Is he competing in that drive, chip and putt champs?  Or was it Major Series of Putting?

Big money, big crowds etc

Sure he is involved in one of them

Thx George. Hope all is well and your personally doing great too!

I’m willing to bet Faxon was tones more respectful of the PGA stars of past who built and paved the way before him too , unlike so many of the up and comers in LD nowdays too!!   He always comes off that way in interviews and when he’s got a camera and microphone in front of him Classy & Respectful  Too bad that hasn’t carried across from Golf to LD!!!

Take care buddy and enjoy the rest of winter—time for more snow and some snowmobiling up here in Gods country...    the great white north

Had the pleasure of caddying for the guy who some claim as the greatest short game ever. I got a first hand look at what a "great" putter is. He went 8 under the last 11 holes and never had a birdie putt under 15 feet. I never seen anything like it. Makes 20 footers look like tap ins. I wouldn't have believed it unless I stood 3 feet from the action

2014 - “Longdrive needs a worldwide platform to get guys exposure and make the sport more mainstream so we get more people watching it at home, to make it more like the PGA. We need a big company to invest millions to make this happen. Help!!”.

2018 - “The Golf Channel is making it way to mainstream and cutting out grassroots efforts to get people involved in the sport while invest said millions and making certain people who I don’t like household names. Stop!!’”

It has been a while since we've posted here on Incepta.  We have recently undergone some re-structuring here and are moving operations.  We have new additions to the company and plan on making a big push moving forward.  We will be completely re-stocked with equipment within the next 2-3 weeks with the HELLFIRE, INTRUDER & SIX drivers.  Although we are making some changes within the company, we will NOT be making any changes to the manufacturing or quality of our equipment.

We are currently in the process of putting together our packages for Staff and up-and-coming Long Drivers.  As soon as the new website is complete, we will post contact information for all of the company personnel.  In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Players AND spectators better read this.  I highlighted some notable things that changed pertaining to being involved that is quite different from the past.

Good luck to the few.

“World Long Drive has quickly emerged as an exciting spectacle in our sport, with record viewership in 2017 driven by a younger audience gravitating toward the dramatic storylines and personalities playing out live in primetime,” said Molly Solomon, executive vice president, content, Golf Channel. “In two years, the number of televised Long Drive events has increased from one in 2016 to now half of the schedule in 2018. It’s a testament to the men and women making an impact on the growth of this sport, bringing a whole new appreciation to hitting it long.”

Really?  Standout fractions of the above statement from the site that might need fact checking.

-quickly emerged as an exciting spectacle
-driven by a younger audience
-dramatic storylines and personalities
-It’s a testament to the men and women making an impact on the growth of this sport

Pinocchio rating please?

my comments for factual humor...
-quickly emerged as an exciting spectacle - yes adding 8 balls to hit OB instead of 6 is a nail biter
-driven by a younger audience - When you drive out the older divisions the only competitors that make up the audience is younger
-dramatic storylines and personalities - Thank you Maurice
-It’s a testament to the men and women making an impact on the growth of this sport - Negative growth is impact for sure, unfortunately it isn't a testament to the men and women, credit is due to GC.

I know, I know, I should read the facts/data they supply in the next portion of the article.  If you run more shows (reruns and other events) you can make great statistics of 6.4 million viewers.  Highly doubt it comes close to the number of viewers that tuned in to ESPN on the holiday weekend to watch the RWLDC.  Divide 6.4 by the number of shows and you can prove the point.

Bottom line, 6.4 million viewers ought to make some waves for sponsorship money for the hitters.  Where is it?  With more shows/air time, fair to say the advertising revenues went up.  Will the payouts be bigger this year?

Not holding my breath.

The Golf Channel Thailand starts qualifiers in February that lead to a final qualifier in March. I believe this is the first year there has ever been a qualifier in Thailand. For Thai citizens only and only male. One spot available to the winner to advance to the Worlds in the USA.

Not sure if there is a Thai person with 145 mph club head speed but there is a lot of golf talent here.

Glad to see LD is surviving another year.......

I implore the GC to add some spots into the events from the qualifiers. This brings in more storylines and creates more opportunities for hitters on the fence about traveling for a qualifier. Should be simple to add at least 2 spots and then maybe the qualifier could earn status into the next event and so-on. Just my 2 cents...........
