Funny, I am certain it doesn't work that way when trying to get into an event...    Pay to play or don't show up!!!   But they can promise outrageous purses and then not pay the winners or even meet the PROMISED dates to pay TWICE!!!   WTF!!!This is so LD lately ----Pass the KOOLAID!!

General LongDrivers Forum / Volvik's "The Match"
« Last post by supajsn98 on Today at 08:40:49 AM »
Just saw on FB that Volvik is promoting "The Match" to be held tomorrow December 12th at the MetroWest Golf Club in Orlando, FL. This match will be current WLD champ Maurice Allen vs. Andrew Tomasi, "Mediocre mini-tour player" as the post states. Tomasi has a +2.4 handicap and Maurice currently shows a 8.7... I also found a site and FB page called "Dude, Where's my par" (http://dwmpgolf.com/) that claims to be broadcasting this match Dec 13th at 7 PM EST on FB.

I did ask what kind match they are playing, have not heard back. I could see this being a skills challenge or something, not sure it will be 18 hole match play. BUT... I do know that Maurice's golf play is always a buzz generator on this site. I am not involved in this or know anyone who is and have no clue who runs the Dude, Where's my par site/ FB page, just found it interesting and wanted to share.

It looked like from what was posted they were getting fans from the crowd, to help call balls and work the grid family and friends  at a event were they payout 400K , I think if people didn't get paid someone would have spoken unless a waiver was signed. but that still is a big purse,,
They HAVE NOT been paid. I know 2 people who went and won money, one guy a TON of money. In contact with both of them. You used the word "if" . No ifs here

2019 WLD event schedule out today, how do they still not have an event in Florida? I am curious to see if they will have Open Tournament Qualifiers for any of the televised events this year and give some no names a chance to compete against the top on TV?

     Nobody has been paid.

Not true. The organizer was paid entry fees, the airlines were paid for flight tickets, the hotels, etc.
