James' swing seemed a little bit yard sale throughout this year.  Obviously he is fast as hell (quite possibly the fastest) but his swing seemed quick in a bad way a lot this year.  That rendered inconsistency when he really didn't want it.

There was a really good LDer back in the day named Trez Simmons.  I'm sure some on here will remember him.  I remember at the Mississippi regional one year he hit a bomb to get through whatever round it was and I congratulated him.  He said "with my swing right now its like //XXX//ting in a swinging bucket."

this thread is for the swings that aren't "//XXX//ting in a swinging bucket."  kinda like you Phil ;D

What are your top 5 swings in LD right now.  Newcomers (or not) that you expect to hear a lot from in the next few years to come.

Reisbeck.........I still think he will get the belt in the next few years.  really cool move especially when the wind helps a cut.

Kois..........just solid.

Moose........seemed to be rejuvenated this year and has always had a great swing.

Wes Patterson.........top tier speed and seems very efficient.

Mitch Grassing..........I love how natural he makes it look and has speed to burn.  Great LD move.

He will get plenty of opportunity to play some golf this year Phil.

What a dichotomy this sport is, when you watch Big Mo swing you can see exactly why he is the 2018 World Long Drive Champion and at the same time you can see why he couldn't break 100 at a PGA Tour event!

To be fair I'm sure Maurice is a much better golfer than he showed in that event, now he is World Champion I hope he gets another crack at it 8)

There are actually some pretty good players at the top these days.  I'm definitely not saying more so than years past, but just as many.  Maurice is definitely going to be requested to play a lot more golf in the upcoming year.......look out for that.

Now you are getting a glimpse of why LD is not that popular. The audience is golfers and there are virtually no golfers in LD anymore.  The champion is setup to the ball on his tiptoes. It looks ridiculous on TV.

the ball has to have every opportunity to go as far as possible whilst in the grid.  Rough is a bad idea.  Ob's a plenty is just part of the sport.

Small headed drivers were just part of golf.
