Yvan is doing a great job of taking care of the players and running the tournament. If you want to experience something special, let Yvan do a car tour of Paris. In that traffic it´s an event in itself. Grin Grin

1st - Mikko Pirinnen
2nd - John McSloy
3rd - Andreas Persson

Distances unknown but a strong headwind is likely to have limited them.

Well done Yvan,
Very,very strong headwind,cold and rain.
1/2 finals:Jonn- Justin
Mikko-Andreas ( most exciting match of the day ).
Finals:     Mikko-John,  winner MIKKO.
Longest drive : Kari 291 m.
Distances are not representative due to the weather conditions, but 291 m is impressive.
Good fun.

Just got in from a night that is not gonna end for some time for the others. Wink Wink The weather was one of the toughest I´ve ever hit in.  Like Holland 2008. Lots and lots of OB sets. In one set 2 of 6 hit the grid, the rest OB.

All in all it was great fun and Yvan has taken really good care of us. Hopefully Yvan will host more events Grin

Mikko and AP's match was one of the best matchplay's in the history of LD..... awesome hitting guys!!! Kari hit some bombs! CJ will be a superstar, Ronan Le Gac showed great passion, John McSloy hit a scary drive in the semis huuuuuuuge! Phil THE_POWER Naylor is an animmaaaallllll!!! Dan hit some sick balls and Fraser was the rain man! Smiley

Great event Yvan! well done mate! He must have driven about 500km this weekend picking up and dropping off people. Great to see someone with so much passion for the sport, just like Patrik in Sweden and Janos in Finland and all the others. We should all be proud of the European events. we have a great guys and we are all good friends! Lets keep it that way.
Great hitting guys that made it through. Tough conditions for all. Apart from Phil who had it perfect!

Ok now for the fun details!  Shocked Shocked

What have we learnt from our time in Paris!

1. Phillipe Jost finds the best place to party!! My liver is shot to pieces!
2. Yvan drives like a maniac, the Arc de Triumph is something you have to experience.
3. Yvan is a machine that does not need sleep!
4. Phil and Chris are the worst people at trying to try to speak french!  Wink
5. There is a rain switch under Yvan's table just for when I step on the tee!
6. French women are somewhat hot!
7. French men can be mistaken for some of the above mentioned!
8. Don't venture into the bushes around Paris. There are "snakes" in those "bushes"!
9. 3 men called Bob, George and Roger are not Women! However much they look like them!
10. Chris owe's me 1 Million euros on a bet that they were in fact men!
11. When a women is taller, bigger and has bigger hands and feet than you, they are generally not women!
12. I do not want a model of the Eiffel Tower
13. Triple rooms are not bigger than double rooms. Although the bathroom is?
14. The Paris Macdonalds are not as good as Stockholm.
15. Phil "The Power" Naylor is offically the worst putter in the world and should change his nickname to "tinkerman"
15. The Eurostar is better than flying.
16. Yvan is above the law and swears at the Police a lot!
17. Karaoke at 4am in some bar in Red Light area hurts the voice!
18. All Americans that we meet in Europe seem to be from Ohio??
19. 52 Euro's for 4 pints of Beer seems wee bit steep!
20. You know I don't drink JFK!  Tongue
21. Some yellow drink Phillipe gave us was vile!
22. Janos is a Legend! In so many ways!!  Cool Shocked Grin
23. A man can't live on MacDonalds alone! even for free Wifi

Looking forward to next year already!

Concerning the head wind, I checked with Meteo France and it was a constant 50 km/h with gusts of 70 km/h.

Here are the results in meters...

http://longdriversdefrance.sports.officelive.com/Documents/WLDPT%20-%20Paris%20-%2030.05.10%20-%20Résultats.pdf

Thanks for the kind words...
I really appreciate them...
Having you here was such a pleasure and this event wouldn't have been what it was if you wouldn't have been there...

Players are the most important point to take care of and that is what we have try to do...
And we will try to do much better next time... BUT I need at least a year to recover from that week end!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Thanks again to all and see you as soon as possible...

Yvan

PS: I will post the link to the photos and everything asap.
