While playing in a scramble yesterday, I told one of my partners that I will never buy expensive balls again.  I splurged a little and bought some ProV1-Xs.  Well, I played four rounds in two days and lost everysingle one of them.  I know, go ahead and laugh.  But anyway, while talking to this guy, he told me that the Titleist rep that comes out to the course he works at told them that the Pinnalce Exception is pretty much exactly the same ball, just a lot cheaper.

Is this true, or was the rep full of it?

They are made in or around the same plant, but the rep is pretty much full of it.  The exception is a decent ball though...Highly recommended for events in which you play.  Lots easier on the wallet too.

I've played both and see a lot of similarities in them. I can actually back the Exception up more than the ProV1's. My family once owned a sporing goods store and I know of other manufacturers that do the same thing. Two balls made at one factory, half stamped one way and the other half another.

Not even close. Now the pinnacle  platinums are like the titleist nxt i think?
They don't make the exception anymore I don't think? They were replaced with the platinums? Which isn't a bad ball. I actually like the way the platinum feel ball plays.
