just wondering if anyone has compared the Zstar tour yellow to the pro v1x.
thinking of making a change because i get bored easily

i get good distance out of the prov1x and like the putter feel.  rest of the stats with it id take or leave.

any imput on what ball has worked for them would be appreciated!

I use the zstarx tour yellow...supposedly spins less than the prov1x, but still too much for my liking...almost considering a jump to the softfeel...but highly unlikely.  zstar is higher spin than the zstarx.

Doubling my chances to find my tee shot

The newer V1x's are softer than the old 05 versions.  I played the Z starx's some last year and this year as well and really like the spin around the green and into the green.  The bad thing is if I hit my 9* driver I spin it too much and lose 90% of roll but carry it way out there.  If I hit my 7* then I get a nice low spinning ball that goes forever.

The Z-Star X spins more off the driver and less off of your wedges and short irons.  The Z-Star spins less off the driver and more off the shorter clubs. Sounds weird but thats the way it is. Both balls are about 10 yards longer off the tee than the Pro-v1's, at least of the data I have seen. I play the Z-star and have since they came out. Hope this helps.

I don't mean to doubt anything that has been said...but how can a ball spin less off the driver and more off the irons/wedges?  Seems like it isn't possible.  Somehow related to how the ball reacts to a more direct hit (driver) versus the more glancing blow (iron/wedge?)

Dan, it's the same way the TaylorMade TP Red/Black were developed...the Black spins less off the driver and more on the short irons, The TP Red did the opposite...Don't know how they managed to do it, but it's true.  Probably something to do with the multi-layer technology as a guess.
