Guys,

As you may be aware, we are utilizing Full Swing Simulator venues around the world from March 1-May 31st to qualify players for our main event August 18-21 here in Las Vegas.

To amplify the excitement we've taken to putting on 2-week long programs with different prizes to encourage people to give it a try.

I'm pleased to tell you that from April 1st - April 15th we will have a special USA vs. THE WORLD program with the following details:

- Top 4 hitters from both sides will actually square off live, under the lights on the THUNDERBALL! Main Event Stage in front of our 2000+ screaming audience with the action being filmed by our production crew!

- The winning side will have both bragging rights and a $1000 bar tab in Vegas to celebrate!

Here are a few helpful links if you're unfamiliar with the program:

www.thunderball.net (main site)

http://thunderball.net/indoor-qualifying-results/ (leaderboard)

http://thunderball.net/europe-qualifying-sign-up/ (listing of European venues - scroll to the bottom to purchase codes from the site nearest you!)

I'd encourage you to watch the indoor qualifying video which does a good job of explaining the process.

Happy to answer any questions you may have, i'm sure the US side is looking forward to the opportunity!

Best regards,

Colin McDougall

Colin,

There now appears to be qualifying at various venues in different countries across Europe and getting involved looks to be fairly straightforward if you're fortunate to live close to a participating venue (I don't). However, please can you tell us what the qualification criteria is for us Europeans for your Thunderball show piece final in Vegas? Are you taking the top 3 finishers, for example? Sorry if you have published this information previously - please could you direct us to it if you have.

Cheers.

Paul,

Top 120 overall from Mar 1 - May 31 are eligible to compete in the main event - doesn't matter from which side of the pond!

All the best.

Quick note to say thanks to all those who have visited a Full Swing Location in Europe!  Hope you enjoyed the competition and would love it if you could encourage your friends/fellow competitors to give it a try!

Yeah, too bad my 400 yard drive was done in practice (with 212mph bs). Got pics to prove it. Too bad I couldn't get my 236mph bs straight...

Thanks Tony!

A few tips for big numbers in that grid (which are pretty much the same as what Lance has posted before):

1) You gotta have the hardest balls possible with you because nobody knows which ball you hit
2) Learn how to aim correctly - it can be tricky to know exactly where to aim.
3) Optimized launch seems to be 10. I had a lot of balls around 220mph bs that were straight and good hits but around 6-7 launch. You MUST carry it far because there are bumps on the fairway that you can't see unless you hit it really far and press REVERSE REPLAY. Use the replays in practice so you can see how the grid plays and how it rolls. Can be very helpful especially if you can't carry it +360 yards.
4) Left side will not roll unless you can carry it +360 yards - so ride the right side.
5) Have correct height tees with you because the place where you are hitting might not have them. Where I hit they had only low or high tees - and I wanted the middle one. So the low tee gives a bit too low launch and I can't hit with a high tee. Remember the launch has to be around 10 otherwise you're done.
6) Buy many tries from the beginning because you don't wanna hit your best balls in practice.

Hitting in that simulator can be very addictive  Wink

Good luck and hit them hard!!!!!!!!!!!
