Canadian Ontario Long Drive Shootout (COLD Shootout)

Be a part of the COLD Shootout for a chance at 2 spots (Open) and 1 spot (Senior) in the WLDC!!   Competitors from around the globe are invited to compete!!

Events will be 2 days of qualifying, taking 24 guys onto the Sunday championship for 2 spots (pending a full field) at the Worlds for the OPEN DIVISION and 12 guys onto the Sunday Championship for 1 spot in the SENIOR DIVISION.  This "Diamond in the Desert" style format condenses the qualifying process down to one site, in one weekend, so there are not several trips involved in the old style locals & districts we had years ago.

Fri June 4th/2010 - Qualifying Session 1:  09:00 - 11:30 (Top 4 Open, 2 Senior)
                           Qualifying Session 2:  12:00 - 14:30 (Top 4 Open, 2 Senior)
                           Qualifying Session 3:  15:00 - 17:30 (Top 4 Open, 2 Senior)

Sat June 5th/2010 - Qualifying  Session 4:  09:00 - 11:30 (Top 4 Open, 2 Senior)
                            Qualifying Session 5:  12:00 - 14:30 (Top 4 Open, 2 Senior)
                            Qualifying Session 6:  15:00 - 17:30 (Top 4 Open, 2 Senior)

Sun June 6th/2010 - Championship Finals:  Seniors 10:00 until complete  
                                                          Open directly following Seniors  

COST:

Friday and Saturday: $45 CDN/try or *3 trys for $120 CDN*
          
Sunday Finals: $85 CDN for LDA Members
                    $170 CDN fon Non-Members
*Competitors who qualify for the finals will be provided with lunch on Sunday*

*If 3 trys are purchased they must all be used in the same qualifying session by the same competitor
NO EXCEPTIONS*

I have been in contact with 2 of the local hotels in the area.  They are offering a special Long Drive competitor rate for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.  I have a block of rooms set aside for Longdrivers until the posted reservation dates listed below.  If you are planning on attending I would recommend booking a hotel early.

Canadian Long Drive is Back!!!

As it stands right now it is OPEN division only.  All ages are allowed to compete in Open and try to qualify in for the Worlds in seperate divisions if they so desire.

Canadian Long Drive is Back!!!

It's great to see something happening in Canada with long drive, but to say that Canadian long drive is back is a bit of a stretch considering it's for Open hitters only. Why aren't the Seniors included?
Are the other events, out west and down east, set up the same way?

Gary.  We are in the works for including the Seniors.  I just have to get some details for the Senior event before posting.  Don't want to put the cart before the horse too early, you understand.  Stay tuned!!  The Seniors should have something posted by middle to late next week for the Ontario region.
