Many thanks for providing European LD with our own Forum. I suspect that most of our growing number are blissfully unaware of this site, so I've asked LDE to email the details to everyone who competed on tour this year.

Personally I feel that Neil Hodgson & his team did a fantastic job organising the inaugural European Long Drive Tour of 2004; sure there were a few teething problems and the weather certainly wasn't kind to us, however, any lessons have been well learnt and now the platform is set for LD to grow rapidly in Europe over the next few years.

Lack of interest? Definitely not from me and hopefully not from a wealth of talented long drivers who travelled all over Europe (at great expense!), on a dual mission to both support this new tour and chase one of the 5 places on offer at the RE/MAX World Championships. I know I share a passion for this sport with many other European competitors, and I for one will be busting a gut to make it to Mesquite next year.

I'm sure that the Europeans who competed in the 2004 World Finals added interest and entertainment to the 3,000 or so spectators (an amazing number to us at the moment!), and that the finals were all the better for them being there.

Nice one PJ.

Pity you had that Friday night flight back from Malaga after the Spanish long drive demonstration Chris, we were well looked after at the RE/MAX brokers dinner. At the start of the meal we got a standing ovation and after PJ had said some well chosen words, they showed a full screen projection of the Spanish Long Drive Championship. I noticed that my follow through was way too flat but fortunately, before it could put me off my food, I remembered how Justin Leonard gets away with it!

What great sponsors RE/MAX are and I trust your trophy is now in pride of place on the mantlepiece!

I'm well happy with the new club length limit Chris, when I broke the Guinness World Record for the longest carry of a golf ball there was a 47 inch limit in place, so this gets me back near a length I'm used to. Apart from anything else, I'm now looking forward to being able to get my drivers into the boot of my car without one almighty struggle, and hitting balls off range mats without my heels hanging off the edge of the mat, and a fear of wrapping the club head round some post!

Hi Tony, great to have some interest from down under. If you check out www.longdrivers-eu.com you will get all the info you are looking for on the 2004 European Long Drive Tour. Building on what happened this year, next year will be much bigger and there are already 6 local qualifiers planned to feed into the 2005 Spanish Long Drive Championship.

Welcome to all you Long Drivers all over the World. It's very exciting to see so many here at Incepta. It lets us know that the sport is growing even though we may not see it where we are. I want to encourage all of you guys to let us know your name and where you are from, at the end of your post. I look forward to meeting many of you at events in the future. Especially the World Championships. It was great to see all the Flags from each nation out on the yardage markers lining the grid in Mesquite.
Tony Marks, it was a pleasure to meet you and watch you hit. Hope you had a great time in the states. See ya next year, right?
