As you know Kenny is working on European venues (Fullswing) for europeanlongdriveseries at the moment but its very time consuming and slow however there should be German options in the near future.
I think we've listed all the outdoor event dates around Europe. is there more? it will be updated as events are announced.

Definately not Fraser!!!
Look Kenny talks really fast at times with lots and lots of details,
(and a propensity to want everything done five minutes ago!) i dont know how he can rattle all that stuff off, its unreal, anyway Janos' English isnt brilliant i guess and there has been some sort of misunderstanding, he has been trying to get a hold of Janos to explain, with no luck.

Well John, I will leave Janos to sort that out. His English is very good, just not in written form.
I think the problem Kenny is having is that no one knows him but you. Most of the guys have never met him and
we get bombarded with email trying to sell us stuff or post on the site.
We have Incepta for that.
I think what he is trying to do is good in a way but he is not going about it the right way. I know that from talking to a lot of the guys. I won't
name names as I am sure they want that spot if it comes about but they are very much waiting a seeing whats happening.
The Players tour is just that, by the players for the players. And Janos has taken a lead in getting that ball rolling. And Yvan and
Kari and AP have added their tournament. All people we know well have put on events before. So he will have to get used to the
guys being sceptical as in Long Drive it seems we are promised the earth and it rarely works out that way. These guys I have just mentioned have
delivered or have at very least met all the players. So that's the way it is for now. Its not a personal attack on Kenny, this is from talking to main guys.
I will probably get banned by him. But I have 4 events to got to already. I'm just letting you guys know the score as I have met you John and your a good
bloke. I understand why the other guys don't speak up but I've never backed down from saying stuff as nothing happens otherwise.
All the best

I took this up 2006, and ever since then ive been hearing guys saying we need to grow this sport, its grown a bit, but its still an expensive hobby really, it needed something radical to try and change that, kenny came up with a format that hopefully will do that by getting the average golfer involved, It takes revenue to grow it. The sheer size of the original plan made it difficult to do in the time frame so kenny decided to put it back to 2011 to give him more time to do it properly, he said to me i dont want to put on a crap event just for the sake of it, however i pushed him to come up with something because i knew how 2009 wasnt that great in Britain, i played in two events, i said theres guys always crying out for a chance to hit, and he came up with the 2010 series.
Yes LDers have been promised the earth before, i know that only too well, but He's puting together something that hasnt been seen in Europe, NO he's not doing it for nothing, and yes he mentions products for sale, the time and work involved has been unreal, is it growing LD? of course it is.
Nobody is getting banned for speaking their mind Fraser, and everyone wants whats best for themselves, i know how the world works and allegiances move from one group to another, i see it on here regular! no probs on that score, this is for everyone that wants it, i hope you guys can embrace it, i'm looking forward to doing battle on the scoreboard up till the end of August, a guy called Lee Newsome is in the lead on the open scorboard with 354 yards if anybody is interested....

I think it would have been an idea to meet the players and talk about his ideas though, he basically called us all pre Madonna's and said that if the so called "names" didn't turn up there would be plenty of people to take their place. I think he is finding that is not the case. As you know a lot of these guys have been doing it for years. They are the names in the sport. They are the best in Europe. Outside the sport people may not know them, but I couldn't name you a field hockey player, or a Hurling player but I bet they have the best players that people in their sport know. These guys are known well in the States.
To do this all by email makes people wary and rightly so. And the constant selling emails are not really what anyone wants? I mean why is Kenny not in incepta? Surely a UK long drive section could have been added by Roach simply enough if he was approached properly. That would have got more hits than a separate which is just a clone of the site?

If it was me i would have said "heres the date i'll bring the beer!"
but Kenny decided to do something completely different from what had been done, he's a workaholic and not a big fan of a committee type approach, i know he broke some eggs but he's getting on with things big time.
LD is the only sport i know of, where a complete unknown can enter a competition and beat everybody in europe, Tom Hollingworth, will he be the last? probably not, 10 months ago i saw a big local guy pump everone at the scottish golf show, by about 30 yards! hadnt seen him before and havnt seen him since. The more widely available it is the more people will take part, which is a good thing. If you announce a one day event 25 guys turn up maybe? if you say you have until august to hit is there a mad rush?! theres a lot going on and a lot planned, its very complicated, but its only the beginning.
I'll continue this by PM if you want.

Nothing beats good personal contacts in business. Build good relationships with people involved and make it a win-win situation for both. I am sure that is rule number one in every business handbook.

No I agree, the more people trying to improve it the better. I was a little fed up though with all the emails and threat of not be exempt if you don't post on the forum!
Having not even met the guy it was a little off he was telling me what to do!! Relationships are important to establish within business first and if you put peoples backs up before you have even started then its no wonder you don't get the support you desire. So you are right there Kari.
As for doing it in PM John, I think its better out in the open. So everyone can see and make their own minds up. Don't get me wrong and I maybe coming across ungrateful but I know I am not the only person thinking like this. I'm not sure if he was trying to ring me today, number was withheld. Everything seems so secretive? Or appears so? Again I may be wrong.
I am sure Tom won't be last person to come from nowhere and all longdrivers like new guys, you'll never find any more friendly bunch of non cleaky guys anywhere. Ask Tom how welcome he was made. Im sure there is a lot going on and he is very busy. I wish him luck. I'm just speaking my mind on this as I have discussed it with some of the other guys and I think things need to be said now or they will fester and thats never good.
Cheers

Secretive Fraser? are you kidding me? does Art Sellinger come on here and discuss everything? ive no idea if it was Kenny trying to fone, lots of people withold their number!
it was a collective email that went out, not to anyone in particular,
there was loads of members and no posting, he asked people to post, Neil of LDE put comps on, you either went or you didnt, he didnt come on here to defend them, anybody could go enter, thats how it should be, there was no money though obviously.
look Fraser we're putting on a series of LD events, you know where they are, if you dont want them theres nothing i can do!

He didn't ask John, he told us if we didn't we'd be deleted. And to compare Kenny to Art is laughable I'm afraid and he does a live Q & A actually. I have had nearly 20 emails in the last couple of months. My inbox thinks its spam.
Good luck to you guys and I hope you have a worthy winner for the WC spot.
I'm all for promoting the sport. I just feel approaches and things could have been done in a better way. Thats my opinion just like Kenny has his on certain players.
The LDE held well run events that anyone could go to and meet the players and organisers and have a go. We all knew Neil and Celia. We would get details of the events. We didn't have to post on a forum or be spam emailed about products. So there was nothing to defend!
Anyway I know Im not the only one who feels like it, I have said my piece and I wish you and Kenny all the luck.

All the best to you too Fraser in whatever comps' you enter
I wasnt comparing him to Art as such, i was just thinking of somebody that ran events but didnt actively defend them or was required too so to speak.
Yes things could have been done a wee bit differently.
Neil didnt come on and defend the constant criticism of his events, and it was PLENTY!!!!
in fact everyone has been criticised in LD it seems, continents cup?
anyway Fraser this could go on forever, all the best,
i'm out.

I know you said you are out John but one question I do have, these "sponsors" are they companies that are putting in funds for prize money, (is there in fact any prize money for these events) or our they just companies that are suppling the online shop. Just from the emails it quotes the companies as "sponsors" only to tell us when their products are available in the shop??
Just wondered as I know others are?
Cheers

I'm pretty sure you would like my answer to your post, but i meant what i said, i'm out, i never meant to get involved in this thread in the first place!
Kenny on the other hand loves to talk, thats the thing i dont understand, the guy gives out his number willy nilly and yet nobody will ask him questions, thats crazy guys! he'll gladly talk to anyone about the series, UK or Euro. Thunderball questions are best answered by Colin McDougall
Its good to talk
John Francis
(sorry, some guys do talk to him fairly regularly)

I would like to know the following things because right now I am a bit confused:
1) Where from does the money
exactly
come in to this series? How much from entries, sponsors, organizations etc...
2) Nobody in this world puts up a whole long drive series for nothing, what really is the
business idea
behind the whole thing?
3) How would the marketing be done for individual event (in detail please)?
I am keeping this conversation public because in my opinion if there is nothing to hide then it all should be discussed here. I also believe that for everybody to jump on board they need to understand thoroughly what the whole series in the end is all about.
Please as simple and short answers as possible, so that even I can understand.
Cheers.
Kari.
