Hey Ryan

Put me down as a alternate or something like that. If someone else really wants to hit put them in(I jacked up my wrist but would still come and hit) but if you need someone to fill the tenth spot give me a shout Friday and ill make it there.

Have you guys tried that new setting that Jack from the ALDA mentioned??  Did it work better?

Is there anyone from Calgary that would like to Carpool up on the 13th?

Shawn,

I have hit a couple times now with the settings that Jack recommended and they seem to work great. However, I have been swinging really good lately and when I catch one the sim still misses it. Anything up to 199mph seems fine but when the heat turns up balls seem to elude the cameras. I will be there in the am to continue my research and will let you know what i find.

Does the Sim miss every ball over 200 or just once in a while?         Matt Gunning

I have the sim booked that is the best for picking up fast balls.  The other 2 at Paradise may have small calibration issues.

The settings the ALDA use are pretty close to what we used last time, other than wet ground and small tail wind.  The settings seem better as we won't have 390 yds as a max hit again.

Jesse I'm in for 10 am.  I'll bring your SMT.

I think we'll make ball less than 6 deg not count, as the new settings seem fair for the balls I hit from 7 deg to 15 deg.  With 11 to 12 seeming the best.

The sims pick up 200 mph + balls pretty good as long as there over 10 deg launch, and hit off your front foot.  Glen Hutch went 204 then 202 back to back with no issues.

Shawn,
I'll be heading up from Strathmore and you can hop in if you would like.  We could meet at Cross Iron Mills and head to RD from there?  If so what time are you thinking?

Ryan,

Is the competition starting right at 1:00pm and if so what is the plan for warming up?  What time should we arrive there? 12:30ish?

If warmup is at 12:30, and it takes a little more than an hour to get there, I would say we could meet at Cross iron at 11:15-11:20?? That would work great! Cross iron is in my back yard, as I live in the far north end of Calgary.

Jesse and I just finished doing some testing.  ALDA settings work great, it seems that balls from 9 ~ 12 deg are best, but 13 ~ 16 deg are alot better with the slight tail wind and wet ground, way better settings than the last time anyway.

Drives less than 8 deg will not count.

And I have the sim booked from 1pm ~ 5 pm, so show up at 1:00pm sharp.  Its saturday so all the sims will be in use by golfers, and there will be people in ours right till 1:00 pm.  I have an second sim booked 1 ~ 2 pm for warmup.  The first 2 hitters will warm up on the competition sim for about 10 mins, then the competition will start at 1:15.  The next 4 guys can be getting loose on the warmup sim.  Then the later guys in the hitter order can move onto the warmup sim.

Try and come as warmed up and loose as possible, and again be at Paradise at 1:00 pm sharp Saturday March 13th.

As long as 10 guys show up, Pay out wil probably be:

4 guys make the 3rd round finals, and after 6 balls each:
1st - $200
2nd - $100
3rd - $50
4th - S.O.L.

Ryan

Seeing Ryan's reply just now, lets try to meet at Cross Iron at around 11:25-11:30 at the latest.  That way, we do not have to scramble at 1pm to warm up like I did last time.
