Because no one ever does it i will do it!!!

World Long Drive Tour

So far there is competitions:
1 France Yvan
2 Sweden Kari
3 Sweden Mikke
4 Uk Adam
5 Finnish Open Janos
6 Holland Stef
7 Finnish Audi Ld Finals Antti
and more lands if intersted!

Everyone gives points for 10 best players!

We do the excel sheet for it (Wary difficult LOL)

I quaran tee that it is easy to get more than one € and some stuff for the best three players on our
world long drive tour!!!

Few calculations!

If there is 7 competitions where is 20 players:

If every time we take 10€ from each competitor to account: is 1 400€ ready

To get member of the tour you need to pay 50 € every year to the same account: which means 1500€ from 30 players.

So far we got 2 900€ for the winner!

It does not need to be big yet, but we can advertise like World Long Drive Tour, and all the well hosted organizers can
do it if they accept our rules of payments.

I can already qua rantee that we can have, golf sponsor's with quipmen ts in!

Afther all all what we need to do is, have bank sheet before we get to competition, and organizer needs to
send list of speared points and black list of players who did not payed they qualifying to the tour....
That means one email for all the players who has web sites where they can publish our rankings....

How does it sound?

I mn ot sure that we need any money for this!

I m fine if we just have ranking points, that is how its been many years. It is ok for me!

Sounds like a good idea, with or without the money.

10 €/competion is not that big money and 50 €/season is not that big either.

Lets DO IT!

Sounds good!
But, if it is a World Tour, it needs to have comps from all continents..
Any ideas, contacts?

I am in whatever it comes too...

By the way, I am still working on Paris event and will post details soon...

And if everything go as I hope... I will post on an other event that should run late august or early september... Bigger... Stronger... Longer...

Well it doesn´t have to have players from all continents, but still if there´s like Australia, Usa, Asia involved even with one comp, it would make a difference.

Even though if no one has the name World Log Drive Tour, it is ours to grab. And that´s a good thing!  Cool

The problem is nobody has the money to travel around the world competing, its much better, cheaper and simpler to compete near where you live AND still be up against people from all over the place, (with a proper scoreboard) AND compete for a place in the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in Mesquite.   Wink   (and money)

John,

What I think Janos is proposing is that, in addition to the apparently sizeable but yet-to-be-confirmed prize funds available at these events, there is the opportunity of having some kind of Order of Merit where the winner stands to make a couple of thousand euro (on top of what they make at each of the tour events) and the title "World Long Drive Tour Champion". If players have the money to go to the events in the first place then they stand a good chance of winning some back if they are any good. The Order of Merit gives an incentive to those who have the time, inclination and funds to participate in as many events as they can. The "World" prefix appears to be a gimmick to pull in potential sponsors somewhere down the line, either for the tour of the individual who becomes the champion.

That's my interpretation anyway, but correct me if I am wrong, Janos or whoever...

How is the UKLDS coming on anyway???

Paul

I thought maybe the thread was a little tongue in cheek, i wasnt sure.

There is regular ukld mailshots go out, giving updates, you must have seen them? anyway i cant and wont go into detail on here for lots of reasons!   Wink

Silverback is right!

Everyone who's organizing a event in the world can enter this system, only thing is that indoor things needs to be on their own.

I think that we do not need to say why, if needs just let me know.

Example: Guy in Alaska will run a competition he can contact to us to have order of merit schedule for He's event too.

I believe that when this grows up, Art and Pate and all world longdrivers understands that the guy who pays all He's trips and does well in competitions is serious guy who will have some wild card for some other event's because no one can say that he is not bad.

We can say that point comes up from confirmed players, so if you have 16 it will bee MINUMUM for full points in event.

If less players then different calculation is used and Paul Glazier and Phil The Power are these man who can give me this calculation system what we can work with!

This does not need any money to start, so we can't loose anything, Thank you Yvan and Leftie we R more than Happy to start this for players just let me know i will tell for my boss NORA to make a excel sheet for us.

We should get the Canadians onboard! they seem a bit disilusioned with things in their country. Flights there are pretty cheap too. Im sure there are others around. Good idea with out any one doing for their own gain. I would suggest the title "World Long Drive Players Tour" for the players, by the players.
Just my opinion!  Grin Tongue

Good points!

Maybe it is possible to organize an event to Thailand too just to get the Asia involved. I know they are organizing
a lot of comps f.e.x. in long drive. And as potential sponsors come across my mind, i would say for example Singha Beer that owns a lot of courses in Thailand, is international trademark, and owns the most drinked energy drink in Thailand. Wink

I think the point in this is to have "ambassabors" in every continent to make at least 1 comp/continent.

I would happily be posted to Thailand as an Ambassador!  Wink
How good I'd be would be debatable.  Tongue
This could be done and using what Janos said as a base it could be a good starting point if we all sing from the same sheet. The WLDPT would be a great venture and a truly World tour. Would mean a lot of hard work by the players. But nothing is impossible.

Well, it seem´s that we finally will have a real world tour!

And best part is that when we have it we can own it!!

So Who is having a first competition this year?

We can do several competitions in same country if needs!

Let´s fill this up, please and if you have maybe just put it there with a word "maybe or not sure"

1: XX.XX Yvan France Championship
2:
3: 9-10.7  J Anus Finland
4:
5:
6:
7:
8:
9:
10:
11:
12:

so ther will be 120 points max. if all the comp´s has at least 16 players. And Paul, Power and Adam can make if under 16 players rules!
So we will destroy all the cheetting comps...

So... Here is what we have for the moment

29th & 30th of May - World Long Drive Players Tour - France
9th & 10th of July - World Long Drive Players Tour - Finland (Janos)
World Long Drive Players Tour - Cyprus (Adam)
World Long Drive Players Tour - Sweden (Tony and Andreas)
World Long Drive Players Tour - Netherland (Stef)
World Long Drive Players Tour - Finland (Antti)

Waiting for estimated dates if you can... At least the month
Waiting for Wales and England events if possible.

What about a Final in Morocco, Tunisia or somewhere else in september...

If you can confirm me this soon, it would be great that I expose this to Eurosport on Monday.
A monthly tour would interest them much more than the one shot they always have been approach with...

Let's make it roll guys... At least, it already ROCKS!!!!

Hi mates!

Because Janos already has settled the comp in Finland, i decided to go abroad and
settle it in Estonia! Smiley

Long story short.. We have Audi Long Drive Tour competition in Pärnu, Estonia 5-6th June and it might be a
great opportunity to settle a world tour event also with Audi LD Tour part of it. Hotels and accommodation are
cheap and next to golf course on beautiful shore of Estonia.

29th & 30th of May - World Long Drive Players Tour - France
5th & 6th of June World Long Drive Players Tour, White Beach Golf, Pärnu - Estonia(Antti)

So, how do we get the competitions to other continents then!!??
Who builds the websites? Any contacts for tour sponsors, anyone?

Rock on baby!  Cool
