Hello Ladies and Gents....

Another new year is upon us.......Snow across Canada and everyone is itching to hit balls.

I figure to post something since I haven't posted anything since before the WLDC
I went for Canada Day in Mesquite and hit horrible....lol

So what is everyone up to.....anyone hitting in sims around the Toronto area?
Does anyone know the deal with the LDA in Canada this year?

Simple questions..........that's all.

Cheers to the New Year and hit'em long

Hi Guys,
do you have any events in the Toronto area, I have friends that live close and it would be a good excuse to head over and see them.
Any details great appreciated. I realise this may be later in the year.
All the best

Fraser
as i am sure you know we had NO EVENTS on CANADIAN SOIL last year that had any hope of moving us all along into the RWLDC's in Mesquite---there were a couple events held to try and help the winners get to Mesquite still for the CANADA DAY event (which was awful and made no sence or $$ after all for the LDA either!)---one was out in ALberta and the other was in Quebec and nothing was done in the largest city and area of the country as you wonder and question about --TORONTO----sad yes but true!

So far there is NOTHING in the works for RWLDC spots yet posted in/on CANADIAN SOIL and or events from the LDA for CANADA---I hope that changes soon and isnt as sad a situation as last year presented itself to us all up here either!!!   There are plenty of BETTER OPTIONS and IDEAs than last years set up gave us.

Im 4 hours north of Toronto and if ya do get over here let us know again when and for how long---im often down that way with Business , family and friends --maybe we'd be able to TIP SOME WOBBLY POPs back and have a round of golf too at very least!

Thanks Toddo

Appreciate you replying so quick. That is a shame. The country that produced the world champ and no events. Thats sad. Well keep me posted and if I am able to get over to Toronto otherwise I will give you a bell.

Cheers

Hey Guys,
About qualifying in Canada for RWLDC, Russ wrote on the LDA site in response to Todd's question about Canada:

Believe LDA is trying to compile a list of potential  site directors
in Canada. At least one in Edmonton, one in Toronto, one in Montreal/Quebec.
If you know anyone who fits that description, please have
him or her contact Mike Ambriz (ambriz@longdrivers.com).
The purpose, of course, would be to have Canadian qualifying
on Canadian soil in 2010.

I sent Mike Ambriz a list of names that I thought would be good hosts for qualifying events, but I haven't heard or seen anything yet.
Art is going to be on the LDA chat line on Thursday night, perhaps that would be an opportunity to ask him directly about Canada for 2010.

I'm thinking of putting on a long drive event, not a qualifier, this summer. As it stands right now, nothing is happening in Canada. I haven't heard anything from the LDC about events for 2010. It would be good to see something happen.

Hey guys....
Toddo, Ice fish'in...nice...beats spending all my cash on a new bass boat.
Gary, glad to see you're still on board.

I've contacted Russ over the holidays and he got back to me on the 4th of Jan with some general stuff and , "We are putting together a packet of information that entails the details for hosting these events. Once these are completed, I will forward this to you."...
I haven't heard anything since. I'm glad I got a response though.

I've also been thinking it Gary....qualifiers are fun and all........but we need an event.
Has anyone chatted with Brett regarding the LDC and what they're doing for the year?

If you're serious Gary I'm sure we can set something up in the Southern Ontario area......
stevestrohack@hotmail.com if you want to send me some of your ideas off the public eyes of incepta. I also do the facebook thing, Steve Strohack is not a hard person to find.

Cheers, It's good to get the ball rolling.....
