I'm going to...just another excuse to go to Vegas.....just waiting on how PA goes down. To those going PA is looking between 100-120 hitters (open) to those who are attending. Strohack

these are the guys who REGISTERED EARLY---so far anyhow!
Updated list as of Aug. 11:
Open Division Matthew Sitka Matt Bruins Kevin Meisner
I dont think ive ever crossed paths with any of these fellas at events on CANADIAN SOIL----or up here anyhow---perhaps they are all CANADIAN BORN and living state side now? But ive no clue who they are and the pedigree they posess either. Good luck to anyone attending this DAY and EVENT and hope its worth it all in the LONG run!

I've never heard of any of those guys either, but nobody ever heard of JZ in round one of the 1996 WLDC either. Its not exactly the right time for a Canadian to get into long drive. I'd go, but anytime I've been to worlds I've been practicing in fog and rain and once with snow flurries in late october in Halifax, and cant justify doing it for a "chance" to make it, and a 100% guarantee of losing $5000 in travel/entry/equipment

I hear and am in complete agreement Carson! I think that WE ALL got severly shafted this year and not with a golf one either! Stuffed it in deep n hard and with out any suitable FOREplay beforehand to allow us to be ready and prepared for whats happened or to try and correct the situation and host/hold and have actual CANADIAN events and sites. It will be interesting to see how it truely plays out on the MESQUITE CANADA DAY and who is there and trying for this AMAZING POSSIBLITY AND POTENTIAL/RATIOs??? Makes it a little difficylt to try and rationalize without any answers beforehand.
On another note---hope all is well for you and yours Carson and your lil one is better than last year at this time. Had hoped to see you and Brett in QUE as well for Sebastains event's. Take care and see ya at a TEEDECK again soon.

It will be interesting to see how many sign up. I've not heard of those guys either. I know of Pat Mostaway, but I've not heard of Lee Graham. Based upon the poll that was done several months ago, not too many are planning on heading down for the Canada Day qualifier. I wouldn't be surprised if there'll be one person from each division qualified, only 3 hitters instead of 3 (or more) from each of the 3 former districts in Canada. I'm heading down to PA this weekend so we'll see how that goes. Are there others going?

I predict there will be 9 open guys. They will take 1 maybe 2 and say how great the ratio is compared to regular districts. Of the 9 open guys there will be 1 or 2 that we have heard of before, the rest will be first timers that dont know any better
I really hope next year the LDA "allows" someone to run a super qualifier on Canadian soil for canadians.
I missed Quebec due to a shoulder injury I am now in physio for. My little guy is doing very well thanks for thinking of him Carson

So it looks like I'll be the only one stubborn enough to go down to 'Canada Day' ...... Honestly I book the time off every year to go down to nevada so regardless I'm taking advantage of it.
In the end if it's just me and 8 or 9 unknowns that would be cool. I'd prefer to punch my clock down in PA this weekend and not have the hassles of it. I guess we'll see one way or another.
Still in the end we're all shafted. If the super qualifier was held in, let's say, Winnipeg we would be sure to get more out than this demonstration in Mesquite. and without the hassles. Besides if it was held earlier in the year would could decide how many other districts if any to compete in.
In the end, let's hope next year is better. Cheers.

I will talk with Art and Mike about having one superqualifier next year here in Alberta. If they do build us the extended range at meadowlands it would work out good. I may even look at doing it the same time as a money event who knows. I will ask, all they can say is no. Kevin Blenkhorn
