Stand proud you noble swingers of clubs and losers of golfballs....

A recent study found the average golfer walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found golfers drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year.

That means, on average, golfers get about 41 miles to the gallon.

Kind of makes you proud. Almost feel like a hybrid.

All I know is I had a double vodka and lemonade on the course the other day after rattling off 3 straight bogies.  I proceeded to go par, par, par, birdie, birdie, birdie to finish the round.  It will now be vodka lemonade when ever I play.   Grin

The drunker I get the better I play....

Last year at a charity tournament the guy I had helping me wasn't so long as he professed he was. It was cold, rainy, and the wind was in our face the whole day. We had to carry 350 to go to the green ( I know it doesn't matter, but just drawing the picture).

After I realized that the guy couldn't make it over the water, I had to swing out my boots to make it myself, I started to get frustrated. The tournament organizer came by, took a look at what was going on, and came back with 4 triple rum and cokes. After that I polished off a half a 40 by myself, and was having no trouble hitting the green. Came with in 8 inches of a hole in one twice. Even over drove the green a few times.

Granted drinking at a charity event probably isn't the best idea, however, in my opinion, so long as you aren't abusing the booze and aren't making an ass outta you or anyone else, go ahead.

I have been a rum and coke guy on the course ever since

Lets just say...in my early days as an Assistant Pro...I worked in Kentucky.  When the Oldsmobile Scramble came around...you guessed it.  I have been used to either ever since.  So now when this topic comes up, I politely just say..."Yes, please"

Nothing better than getting a DUI on the way home after a round of golf.  And you thought you hated losing that $2 bet, now you can get more miles per gallon for a year
