I have decided to put this aside for this year for a few reasons that I will briefly explain:

#1 Heartland classic I feel is more important and is what LD should be about so   Sam-I'm in

#2 regionals are week before and week after and alot of guys are dependent on 'if I get in or not'

#3 one of the biggest ones and should be posted elsewhere also-sorry,those that know me and know what I try to represent being Alpha's LD rep and also working closely with HOF to promote LD in a positive way so that it grows...
here it is:
everyone complains about no events,
everyone complains about 'hitting for their own money'
everyone just complains (if you are exempt from this-your not included)

alot of people asked about 'giveaways' at this event-I did not ask one person, company etc for prizes all the while knowing I could get them especially from Alpha and probly Robert at HOF and others
INSTEAD-I went after money sponsors and invited them to 'check out the site' the bickering, bashing, complaining, ego's and everything else makes it a tough sell and honestly-some crap people post is pretty embarrassing
friendly challenges are great-friendly banter is also-honest reviews-great-        stupid stuff  ...oh well looks like we stay stuck in a rut and embarrass ld some more
hopefully scheduling 3 mini events next year will give me more time to sell the sport

IT was fantastic seeing people step up for Ben-it made some realize whats really important and made me proud for a while

Anyways-I apologize to those that were looking forward to it-I was also
PLEASE go to the Heartland Classic-you want to see what REAL longdrive is about-you'll find it there

now-back in my shell-any questions about Alpha or HOF-I'll be glad to give you honest feedback without trying to bash others

I am working on next year already and working with others also so there will be 3 with hopefully day before locals
it's really to bad-those that have hit here know how great these people are and how great the grid is
people have to think-Being in St Louis over the past weekend getting back with friends has alot of value and is a big bonus in this-to bad not everyone will be able to experience it
they do not know who visits this site and watches what's going on-everyone thinks it's the LDA's job to grow the sport and complains-
TAKE responsibility-you do not see alot of the oldtimers and upper tier guys here because they are busy represently LD in the way it should be done-thru actions

anyway-I'm done-as I said everyones got my email and I'll be glad to help in anyway I can
Best of luck to all at regionals

Well stated, Neil. I am still undecided for Heartland Classic, but I hope to be able to work it out with the wife!

Chris

ps...some of these threads are frickin ridiculous, but you gotta love when guys like OOP and Vinny step in and suggest everyone take a step back from the crack pipe..wait, that was Gringo! Where is he when we need him??

I'm interested in hitting this, 5 hour hike or so, but should be fun.  I'll have to pin the work situation down more and i can vouch for sure.
