Have thrown this out there before but will try again:

Just Southwest of Cleveland-1/2 hr from airport
Dorlon golf Club

Have grid-600+ yards and flat  (for those that have hit here-they mowed the other side of the street and that is now the warmup range)-will be hitting off elevated teebox going west to east now

they love LD and are open to having an event

entry fee?  suggestions   can go a few ways-lower-320.00 range and up-the more entry fee-the more the payout

super Q format 18-12-6

can even do a scramble day after if it is held on Saturday

Date: thinking mid-July before districts start

Have seen numerous posts about :"How about an event in the Northeast" so-here's your chance

post interest here-thanks!

Also thinking for June 22nd qualifier here-
if people are interested-throw in 5-10 xtra per set-winner of each qualifier gets it

going from 9-5+ ish so should be able to get in 3-4 qualifiers-maybe turn it into a super Q also with permission

thoughts?

As long as Im in Pittsburgh I am in. Id prefer a normal bracket format, especially with regions around the corner it will give some practice for that.

As long as it does not conflict with Metter Event I am most likely in! I agree i would like to see a double elimination format and not the super qualifier!

Thanks

can do-
keep it coming-
thanxs

just so people know- I pretty much have at least 10-15 people that will definetly be in
I just want to narrow it down so I can work it all out

I don't have to 'check with the course on dates so Saturday/Sunday is fine
seperate grid and warmup

Neil,
Have you set a date for this yet?  The weekend of the 11th would work the best for me, but I'll try to make no matter when you have it.  Let me know whatever details you have so far.

Thanks,

Josh,
Local is on for 20th of this month-it is a Super Q now covering Ohio,Missouri, and N Carolina Regions

10.00 buy-in for qualifying (optional) is on!

as far as an event-I've pretty much decided to just set a date and do it so....
I'm looking at maybe September for it so as not to conflict with Districts-or maybe even August on a weekend when most regionals are on the west coast.
checking on dates for September Slam so as not to conflict also.

Will get pic's of the set-up tommorow

planning on calling it  'Great Lakes Shootout'
1 event this year and maybe a series of them next year -possibly can get Mi and Pa to jump in also

that's the plan sobear with me on it
have grid-have course owners that are really accomadating LD so...

sounds good, I thought you were looking to have it before districts so I was suprised there weren't more details yet.  I'll probably be down for your local on the 20th, I'm hitting the ball good, and the wrist is healthy I just have some equipment issues right now.

Neil,

It sounds like you will be putting a very nice event together. Out of pure curiosity and desperation, are there any chances of including the women? And will there be a super senior division? (Gotta ask for my dad) lol  Smiley

Thanks!

Neil,

Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate that you are keeping my hopes up. I don't have alot to go on, so I have to jump on possibilites when I can!

Keep me updated with all of this. Worst case scenario, I'll make the drive and watch!

Going to 'tenativly' commit to 1st weekend in September for setting this up
have a few 'things' in the works so I can just hope it all pans out that way!
don't want it to conflict with regionals so this seems like the best time

thanxs for the emails from some that have said they will be here-just set it up!

Neil,
Wouldn't this interfere with Thunderball? I thought that was scheduled for Labor Day weekend or something along those lines. This may also interfere with my annual family reunion, (which may be the last) which if that is the case I think I'm out. But you never know, if I find a way that it all works out I'll be there.

as far as I know-Thunderball already has it's competitors?
Sorry if it's going to conflict with people but...
had to take a risk and just set a date
no regionals that weekend and Texas the weekend after so even tho it is a holiday weekend (Monday) should give people time to get home for it

As I said:
these people at this course have been fantastic-let us do 4 locals there last year and whatever we asked-they did what they could to accomadate US-Longdrivers.
Grass at the beginning of the year last year was 4' tall!-old grass airport runway
they cut it for us
other side of the street was the same way till they asked what else they can do for us
they cut that down for OUR range this year  450 yard range
450 plus grid
and flat
planning on trying to do a series next year minimum 3 events and try not to conflict with the LDA

Would appreciate interest and response for those interested-
put it this way-if 10 guys show and want to compete-it will go on

If you have an event I'll definitely try to make it.  Entry fee and work are the only things that I would stop me.

Next year are going to from the OLDA.  Grin
