unfortunatley, as whacked out on oxycocet as I am, i have mentioned this in many previous posts. LD in Canada is not as big as the states. Our golf season sucks, and with snow and crap we spend more time with skates/skis on than a golf club in our hands. Not to mention it is an expensive "hobby" to hvae. Out here "western Canada" it is not big at all. When an event comes up, and Ryan Hart, Shawn Robinson, Greg Stirrett (sorry Greg, I can't spell......), Sam Watterton, Me, and another guy (his name escapes me, but has a nice truck and had shoulder problems at Westerns) are all the same faces at all the same events, with a few other guys that can hit it but not on a world stage, we might as well jsut put out a newsletter on here, have a hit off and send the 2 longest.

I'll try again when I am sober, I can't think as fast as I am able to type

The whole issue in my opinion, is the facility and director. Times were great (atleast i think) when Wayne Paridis was running the show in St. Albert. Once we lost the St. Albert driving range and Wayne, things have gone to shyit. We would definately get decent numbers again if we had a place to hit that wasn't out in the boonies. No offence to the folks at the "Double Dimple mini putt" place or Roger (thanks again roger if you are on this site for stepping up to the plate, you did an excellent job) but it needs to be in the city where atleast word of mouth gets around from people seeing the signs and advertising and people actually live close by.

Till Another Wayne comes along that is willing to give up half of his summers to host a local qualifier 3 or 4 times a year with a good facility in a populated area we are hooped.
Just my opinion on why the low numbers issue. I dont think it's a lack of willing competitors, its the fact that nobody knows about it, except a few of us.
