I've always wandered what exactly the bounce on a wedge does...

Lower the bounce makes the club go in to the ground easier...its the angle of the sole of the club...most pros use lower bounce wedges so they can take a bigger divot and put more spin on the ball...higher bounce clubs are the ones you will typically find at most of your sporting goods stores...for the 20 hadicapper...lower bounce wedges are harder to find but can be ordered from anywhere...
