cheers toddo.
hi marco,
i used a 47 inch shaft at farnham, like ive said before i just lengthen the shafts myself, its cheaper, a helluva lot, unless some kind person offers me a free shaft or two!
it also deflexes the shaft somewhat, its difficult to quantify, but it does, ive tried 48 in some clubs, should have done it with my fav cobra.

ok john...can you tell me why you dont use the max allowed of 50 inches?
is it because its harder to bring the club face back to the ball in the sweetspot?

Marco, get to the 50'' mate, if you find it hard then i suggest you build up a 52'' driver (or even longer), hit balls, hit balls and hit some more balls with it. Now go back to the 50 incher and it'll feel like a 3 wood! Back in the day guys were booming shafts way over 52'' with 260cc heads :

hi marco,
it was partly to do with driving ranges, small bays, i can use 50, so my next club will definately be the max, i think my two cobras are 49 and a bit, feelin really comfortable with them now, dont know if i'll have a new max club for cumbernauld or not, thinkin bout it.
