Think I need to shave?? :)

« Reply #60 on: August 04, 2008, 11:11:07 AM »

So I would be correct in guessing that Gull Lake is not allowing us to go out there?? I gotta say I don't want to have to drive to Colorado again. And as I sell Real Estate I know I am flexible, however I also have some charity tournaments to do and a Wedding to go to this month. I know that everyone is doing their best, but lets not leave this to the last minute.

Brett, let me know if there is anything I can do. I can call around if needed, but I am just getting antsy as this month is a busy one for me.

I know, quit my whining.....

Hope to see you guys soon.

I'll ask some farmers if we can use their fields to hit in.....may have a few gopher holes, but we can see.

Just kidding.

Why doesn't Roger want to host? I thought he was all for having a district final at that spot?

And what is the behind the scene thing?? I know you won't tell me, but I thought I'd ask......

So is the biggest problem that Roger doesn't want to host? Maybe one of us can host at the Gull Lake facility if it is available? I got connections at Wolf Creek Golf Resort, I will look into that tomorrow......Im not sure how long their range is at their teaching facility but might be able to get something over there. Ill also see if I can measure out the range at Ponoka too, it might be long enough and if it is I could 99.9% guarantee I could get the range there.

Pleas ask them, we are open to any suggestions at this point. If summerland leisure centre will take us, we'd love to hit there.

Hey Shawn,

Can we assume the sites locals were hosted at in previous years have been called?

I.e. Sylvan Lake.... they held locals the last two years
how about the one in Oilfield?

Thanks for your efforts Shawn.

I have called some courses and Justin Kelly is as well. I spoke to Brett and he has left numerous messages at different courses but has heard nothing. I am working on something in Red Deer here but no guarentees. It is just a lead right now.

We will hopefully have answers by this weekend I hope. I or Brett will post on here to keep you all in the loop.

Thanks

Hi:
Why not form a committee on behalf of LongDrivers of Canada with glossy flyers and be an official representative for Brett, and bring a DVD from last years world championships to show the range owners that this is becoming a huge event. A little promotional "juice" say, from local news media wouldn't hurt either. Run ads, etc. I would think range owners would jump at it.....(I think).....

Anyway my 0.02 worth.
See ya all in Mesquite, hopefully...
