I'm posting this for Roger.

Bring cash, no atm on site.  Hot Dogs/Hamburgers will be bar-b-q'd on site.  Turn West at Lacombe, 10 minutes later you will be there.

It will be tight, no room for both hitting on the deck and practicing on the range at the same time.  Will have to alternate.

Shawn

Good luck to everyone!  Wish I could be there.  I'll definitely be at the second event.  Cheers.

1st) Shawn Robinson 342 yards 9 inches
2nd) Greg Stirret 342 yards 3 inches
3rd) Roger Giesbrecht (sp??) 325-330 yards (can't remember exactly)
4th) Tim Hansen 325-330 yards (again, can't remember exact #'s)

Greg and I had to go into a 3 ball playoff b/c we were within 6 inches of each other.  I put my 1st ball in at 340 yards, and Greg was OB on his 3 balls.

Roger put on a great event!!  Feels good to get back into competition!

There were 29 tries in the 1st local.  So, $40 X 29 tries = $1160.  The winner for the Canadian locals actually gets 15% of that.  So, I took home $174!!  I only spent $40 for my try and another $40 on gas, so I actually came out with more money in pocket!!  Great idea Brett!!  People in the states are missing out on this!

Wind was crosswind and slightly in our faces the whole time.  The grid had thick grass and was damp.  It was giving up a MAX of 10 yards of roll.  It was an all carry grid.

I didn't stick around for the 2nd local, so I don't know any of the results.

I agree with Shawn, Roger and others put on an excellent show, and the owners of the range were great.  The weather was great but for some reason there seemed to be a hole at the 340 yard mark.  Some great balls were hit, but they didn't seem to travel too far.

Congrats to Shawn and all the others who qualified.

This is the info I got from Tim Hansen:

"I forget the guys name, but he was that guy in the stripped pants and visor.....last name Hutchison?? was a little over 343. Jesse Hnidy and some other guy were second and third....not sure what order though as i kept getting them mixed up. I was fourth.

I left at about 4:45, but I believe there were 16 tries or so."

Is everyone going to the second event as well?  Even those who have now qualified?

Sam

(and in second event, I truly meant the 3rd event - as I won't be making it up to Fort Mac...)

Everyone except those that won the local I would assume.  We are not allowed to as per the rules.
