Hi all,

Unfortunately due to some previous long drive events I just wasn't able to get things worked out as needed at Nottawasga Resort.

The good news though is LDC has found a new home for Canadian Long Drive just down the highway in Barrie, ON called Tangle Creek Golf Club.  www.tanglecreekgolf.com

This is a fantastic facility and is the 7th ranked course in Ontario outside of Toronto.  They are incredibly excited to host this event and they are also going to host the Ontario Regionals as well as local qualifiers throughout the summer.

The best part is they are actually building us a 450 yard long grid as we speak. I was at the course yesterday and was checking out the construction progress and I can tell you that this is going to be a great venue.

If any competitors would like to visit the golf course and practice or get out and play please give Tangle Creek's Head Pro Jamie Sheppard a call at 705-720-2150 X 101. Or you can reach him via email at jamies@tanglecreekgolf.com

I would encourage all competitors that will be participating in the Canadian Long Drive Championship to send a note of thanks to Jamie for the efforts that they are making to create a succesful event.

If anyone has any questions please email me brett@longdrivers.ca

Thanks
Brett

Brett and all the others interested in this topic and thread!!

I was down at an event at ANGUS GLEN yesterday and as I headed through Barrie --I swung over to TANGLE CREEK and met Jamie their pro and saw whats going on with regards to a NEW LONG DRIVE GRID and set up they are building and creating at their facility!
They have a great looking spot for us and its going to rock (still under construction)-----will be such a better set up than whats been around for events and districts through last few years for sure.   They had the DOZER out pushing earth and getting the distance to the back side as we will want and require.  Jamie is a great fella and he is excited about the opportunity and possibilty of whats being done at his course for US!!!   From the teedeck it runs out over 400 yrds to the back with a uphill left to right flow.  They are wanting to run the backside of the grid a lil downhillish to about 430 --440ish he was mentioning to me.
Brett well done on getting this going along with JAMIE and TANGLE CREEK this way!

Cya all soon at a teedeck near you!

Hey Todd,

Glad to hear you went by to say hi and check the place out.  Jamie is a great guy and they are very excited about having us. We are going to have the grid as flat as possible and slightly downhill to 430-440.  They are also going to create some additional warm up areas to the right of the competition tee box for when we host local and district qualifiers there.

Thanks for going by I'm sure they appreciate the support.
