It should be called the friendship/hangout tour since it's literally limited to 40-50 out of the entire world.

There is no more grass roots, get people involved. It's sad.

Tour events are not supposed to be grass roots, the local qualifying is. The great news is that local qualifying is bigger than its ever been, more new faces in the sport then the past few years. We have received a lot of questions to our support email about how to get in to the sport so all in all its not sad its great.

How many people do you expect to enter this year in total, you guys must have records of all this info, how many entered last year?
Should be quite easy to understand if there is growth or not if the number of entries is on an upwards curve

at the last event yes sure there was some new blood in the water and a few new names n faces----but look back at the lists of local tries and many, many ,many were actually PROFESSIONALs in the top 50 listing trying to get ranking points and grid time before the Tour Event!     #s are for sure going to dwindle and lessen with this new way of doing things currently as it is...

Beasty
----just taking #s of entries wont show true facts-or demographics ---Locations, style and type of events ,timing of announcements,  trying to improve a ranking system and points awarded where and why, Buy ins vs qualifications , etc etc...a few years from now ---lets see what #s are going to look like in terms of Vets vs True New Names entering comps!
Golf channel have ignored  many veteran competitors ( for the new way of thinking ) , their comments and input and even gone so far as to alienate a few HOF members in their actions of late choosing to take the yes man approach and work with those willing to always say yes!!!

Heard the event sold out in 30 minutes. Obviously the GC has found a way to fill their tour events. However, it would be nice to see a few spots open to qualifiers for the event. For example, letting the top 3 from the regional into the event etc....  This would increase participation in locals.

GC,

If you read this there are allot of guys on the sidelines who aren't going to spend the money to come out to a local. It is extremely cost ineffective but if you open a few spots into the events then quite a few of us will make the trip. Food for thought.......

This is a bold statement and based on who's experience?  Just looking at your live scoring from the ECC there were 93 hitters in the local qualifying. Dick Rodgers would know better than I and maybe could help here; but the last time there was a regional in Pennsylvania I attended and there were 70+ hitters which I was told was considered a down year.  In addition there were multiple local locations across the region that feed into that regional.  Safe to say the number of participants in that region would regularly have been more than the 93 at the ECC.  There were also far more than 6 local & regional qualifying sites across the US.  The comment that grass roots qualifying has all but disappeared has merit.

There is either

A.  More people hitting
or
B.  Less people hitting

Why you wrote a paragraph addressing me when the question was both a simple one and addressed to someone else I have no clue.

Well BEASTY

There are ONLY people hitting no more or less no monkeys no aliens or anything else if you really want to know the facts and not just type away your normal nonsense on the keyboard!

I'll also take you as a man of your words at this time--- at least the very last four !!
You're absolutely correct!!!

And btw wordsmith--you lacked addressing your comments and questions to anyone in particular & just joined an already going chat here!  Sorry for interrupting your fantasy of a one way conversation between you and Colin...

Sweet win Landon.  Also, looks like Justin James is here to stay.
