I am considering July 17-19.  I would like to combine it with a couple locals and a regional but if we do it in May I don't think that will be possible so that leaves us with July.  I spoke to the LDA about it but they are concerned that there wouldn't been very many local qualifiers leading up to a May date which would limit the # of participants.

I will post it as soon as I know the exact date.  I am considering doing the Rockwell with a couple locals and then doing a regional at a later date.  I really like the date in May because the weather is usually good it's not in the summer time when everyone is vacationing.  That would also allow us to do a team event, a senior event and possibly a developmental event the same weekend.

The East Coast Classic will be May 23-24th at the Mesa Soccer Complex in Greer, South Carolina. Shark Attack Golf is hosting. Should also have qualifiers attached to it and a possible play in event.

Just posted another event at the beginning of this thread.  The Endless Summer Invitational was a great event.  I was at the 2012 event, which may have been the first one, and had my worst event ever in a long drive competition.  That being said it was still one of the best LD/golf events I have ever been to.  My wife went with me to the event and was disappointed when there wasn't one this year.  If you can make it be sure to go, you will be glad you did.

I will be hosting a pro-am/longdrive event the third weekend in April 2014.  More details to come.  The important information is that 5k + entry fee will be the minimum guaranteed purse for this event.  Reception dinner for the players that will be held the night before and the night of the event.  The location will be Mt. Gilead, NC at Tillery Tradition Golf and Country Club.  The entry fee will be $500.00 and will be 24-32 man field.

It looks like the long drive schedule is really starting to shape up for 2014.

Any word on dates some of the upcoming APG events?

It is APG's big event held at Eagles Landing in Stockbridge GA.  It is in the Greater Atlanta area and one of the best events of the year.

No kidding eh Mike
Sad now that the event for Seniors is strictly a BUY IN and so many possible events and venues will no longer be running events for us to hit and compete through and at!
I'm just glad I'd earned my spot last year as a SR and it wasn't this way then.
Many sites will loose opportunities for the directors to make any money and Benifits of hosting the qualifiers , and numbers at events will drop across the board .  Lack of events is no good as there is little chance to hit in grids already with competition mind set,  As well many first time SRs will never get an opportunity to try LD now either...

Looks like Derek may have a senior division at the Mile High Shootout.  Would probably be good if interested seniors shoot Derek an e-mail per his post in General Long Drive Information.

Any others considering a senior division?  Utah State maybe?

Thanks,

Roy Alminas
