Was Lynn trying to set a record or break a record?  Whatever...one thing for Damn sure..I couldn't even tee up that many balls....let alone swing that many times... Cheesy

And the KIDS are the 'real' winners!  Excellent!

Would love more info...

How many hit in the first hour? Did he break his record?
What was the wind condition?
Was Lynn hitting drives that weren't going 300 yards?  Was it wind or was his total lower than expected because of fatigue or ?

WTG Lynn you are so awesome!

Steve..If I am not mistaken it was balls over 300 yds. ONLY that counted...Unless I got it completely wrong?  Which, for me is not unusual...LOL

EARLY ON WIND WAS ABOUT 15 TO 18 MILES DIRECTLY IN HIS FACE, ALSO THERE WAS A SAND TRAP  TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FAIRWAY THAT WAS ABOUT 290 YARDS, MANY BALLS HIT IN THERE SO NO ROLL ,THE CONDITIONS WEREN'T PERFECT BUT LYNN STILL DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB PROMOTING LDA AND RAISING MONEY FOR THE KIDS. THERE WERE AT ANY GIVEN TIME BETWEEN 300 TO 500 PEOPLE WATCHING. SO THE REAL WINNERS WERE THE KIDS.

First I want to say it was an amazing week.

I was able to talk to the PGA Tour officials the Farmers Insurance Open Director.
Several reporters, caddies and some tour players. All about Long Drive and the Charity event that I was doing.

We raised between 10 and 15K for the San Diego Junior Golf.

I really want to thank for those that helped doing the event.

Brenda and Greg Prudham, Greg got there at Midnight after his flight from the PGA show.
Jake Taylor, Jesse Haynes, Ted Giapapas, Desiree Parducho del Rosario, Cleve Nash, Jared Rogers,
The Rays, Bruce Blake Brian Oksana James and Brian’s Boy Scout troop. The San Diego junior Golf.

Aldila, Krank, Hirzel, Brush T,  Balance Certified, Bio Rhythm GNC Tempe AZ,
The Balls from the LDA, Owen and Jack. Also for Jack running the PA.

I hoped I didn't forget someone, I'm still tired.

The conditions were not good. There was a 10-20 mph head wind for the first 5 hours.  First ball was hit at 3:40 pm.
When I first started to hit with my rapid fire (about 15 balls a min) after the first 5 min I only had about 10 over 300.
So I slowed down my pace. Trying to hit the 300 yards.
The next 2 hours there was a good breeze.
Hours 8 and 9 were my best, 11:40 – 12:40 slight breeze hit 444 balls that hour. My long ball that hour was 365.
Then it got cold, it was 45* for the last 2 hours. About 2:30 am during one of my 5 min breaks I fell asleep.
The 12th hour I hit just over 200 balls. The last ball I hit right before 340 am, Jake placed the clock in front of the ball.
That was the best way to stop the clock.

I was hitting on hole 10 on the north course, which would have been fine if there was no head wind.
Starting at about 290 the fairway narrows to about 20 yards with sand traps on both sides. The rough was at About 3 in”

The Final count was 3571 balls in 12 hours, but the count over 300 was only somewhat over 600 balls. We lost over
150 balls in the deep rough, well it was too dark to find them.

The only hard thing during the event knowing, I was going to get ripped by (someone) because I failed to do it.

Only a few blisters, most of my body sore, but sore like after a good workout. I'm ready to do it again.

If any have an event with a charity, give me a call.  They want me back for next year.

I HAD A GREAT TIME!

And Again thanks to all that help, and the ones that made a donation.

It must be very satisfying to raise that kind of money over a 12 hour period for Jr. Golf!!  All your sponsors and helpers must be very elated and proud...YOU especially!

Great Job.....in San Diego parlance...DUDE!

This is the type of stuff that makes everyone feel good involved in this sport..inside the ropes and outside!

Lynn, you did a great job.  Congrats on pulling this whole thing together.  It speaks volumes for your character, but I already knew that.  Also, Brenda and Aldila did a great job sticking with you throughout the event.  Cool Stuff Brother!

Bummer the conditions weren't a little better, but I know Lynn represented himself and the LD community with pure class.

The intent of this attempt is really all that matters. You did a wonderful thing for a lot of young golfers and represented your sponsors and yourself very well. It doesn't matter that you fell a little short of your goal. This is a tremendous accomplishment and I applaud you and this heroic effort for Charity!  I know for a fact there is no way I could do what you did!  Congratulations on a job well done!  On a side note, thank you Brenda for providing updates and supporting Lynn!  A tremendous amount of respect goes out to all involved with this!
