There is no pop up style net that works. Unless you like golf balls flying through. Your best bet is to find golf netting and build one out of abs or pvc tubing and do 2 to 3 layers of nettiing on the back side only.

the only thing I have ever found short of a commercial set up is felt blankets. I am not sure why but some how they stop the ball. Eventually they will rip but just layer them and buy new ones when they rip. It is cheaper than a commercial net.

I am looking to buy a section of hurricane screen to give that a try or possibly some Kevlar fabric.

Any fabric would realistically work. I know when I was looking into building one I found a couple of wholesale websites were you can buy the mesh for around $200 for 4 sides including 3 on the back.

Check with local CANVAS repair and supply shops in your area---see what NETTING they can supply and double triple hang the hitting areas

I picked up a huge massive netting for cheap that way.

I got an impact screen.  Works great.  A little mod expensive but very durable.
