My FedEx rates have gone up 33% minimum on ground and 25% minimum on 3 day select!!!???

I am by no means a large acc't in the scheme of things...but, I am not a small acc't either!

I tack on $1.00 to almost cover the box when I ship orders.  I never screw around to try and make money off shipping.

How greedy is FedEx?!!  I am going to look into the Post Office as this is insane.  Ok...5% increase I can understand but 25% and up?  That is nuts!  And to top it off...what I did not know is that on tubes, shipping shafts i.e., they charge me an extra $8.00 handling charge which I did not know about...so I go upside down on some orders.  Don't these A-holes know there is a recession going on?  I am tired of getting ripped off by these POS!

Sorry for the rant...but, it affects you as well when you order from me.  Any other companies ran into this rip off problem?

Duty should be only on non-north american made products, ie: Importing a BMW into Canada from USA, you will pay GST  and 6% Duty.

USPS is always the best for cross border packages between US and Canada.  Into Canada there is no charge on items under $70 value, and just sales tax on anything over.

Now UPS, they have charged me $50 worth of fees on a $40 package, and thats with pre-paid shipping.

Best way to do it! Order in advance and if you can order with a couple of others and split the shipping.

yeah you get screwed on the shaft tubes.  just use a regular box, the box handling machines cannot sort/deal with round tubes so they have to be hand sorted which is where extra charge comes from

I've worked for FedEx for 21 years. Any international shipping is cheaper with USPS since they are held to different rules in terms of duties. UPS will be just like FedEx. As for increases, there was a general rate increase for both UPS and Fedex in the new year, then add on fuel surcharges. The added handling costs for the tubes is correct- they do not work on our automated sort systems. You may have not been hit with those in the past and just got caught in a rev audit. While it may seem nuts for the increase, my food bill is up 20%,  gas and heating oil is up more than that year over year.. Its called inflation. When the govt prints money to deflate the dollar to improve exports ( QE1 and 2) this is the result to our economy.
