A little math for you this evening Just a reminder to all not registered yet. There are 48 guys signed up in the Open and 11 Seniors. I´m guessing most players attending Söderby a few days before us will want to attend both events and here´s the thing: We have a limit of 80 Open and 24 Senior. If those not signed up in the Seniors yet that will go to Söderby, register, we will add 11 more seniors making it 22. And I already know 1 more that isn´t competing at Söderby but working at both events so maybe 23. For the Open the same numbers are: We are 48, there are 21 still not signed up from Söderby making it possibly 69 Open. What I´m saying is that for those planning to attend, we are first come, first serve and if 3 Senior sign up that aren´t signed for Söderby, not all from Söderby will be able to compete at this event. For the Open the same is more than 11. We have no qualifier, just pay and compete. So please pay close attention to the numbers as we will not make any exceptions for those wanting to attend both. Basically the order on www.wpgmc.com is the order players sign up in, when the quota is filled, an alternate list will be put up and after April 30th any unpaid spot will be given to the next in line. So this is for all not registered but planning to attend AND especially for those that are on Söderbys list and havn´t sign up yet! AP

Don't forget to go to www.wpgmc.com to see if you have done the registration
If you have done the registration at Soderby event you still have to do the registration to Aldila World Matchplay Championship
So for registration send a mail to reg@wpgmc.com to secure your spot to Aldila World Matchplay Championship
Registration so far

Check www.wpgmc.com to see who has registry so far.
Remember that there is only
80 spots for Open 24 spots for Seniors 16 spots for Women

No qualifier, first come, first serve... I took the liberty of crosschecking Söderby´s event and this, these guys are not yet signed for this event but travels to Söderby: OPEN Aaron Mansfield Nicholas Rowe Reserves at SöderbyDan Halldin Seniors Ivan Sanders Fred Trigg Pat Dempsey We are 74 signed for Open and 3 more on this list that are probable. And I guess Fred, Pat and may do 2 divisions coming from North America so 2 more making it 79 of 80 if all register. Just saying not too many spots left. Seniors are 19 with 3 on this list making it 22 of 24. I will not phone people to confirm so please make sure you register in time, I would hate to see a guy travelling to Sweden failing to register in time, making only an alternate list. Just a heads-up for all. reg@wpgmc.com to register Happy New Year! AP

For all of you travelling or thinking about going to Sweden, check this out: http://www.bigmeet.com/According to the site it´s an annual thing since 1978, I´ve been there many times. The biggest American car show in the world with over 17,000 cars for 3 days. About 2 min walk from the hotel everybody stayed at last year. Visitors from more than 40 countries. AP

If you like classic american cars, it is the place to be! We Swedes love cars from the 50s and 60s. For 3 days they showcase their cars and drive around doing whatever you can think of Which by the way makes hotelbooking a mess.

Ok im officially into the mix with the Seniors now as well and cant wait to get it all booked , orginized and ready to fly out and over to Sweden at the end of June now too. It certainly will be great to hit in such a quality event with a top notch field of competitors as this has comming . Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting others of course too.
Anyone who has suggestions where to stay(Hotels, Rental's , where to rent car ect ect)---ill be comming over with my Wife and two kids (son 10 and daughter 7) and spend a week in Finalnd first in Helsinki with very close friends and then over to Sweden(fly over or take 16 hr cruise? whats best option and suggestions who to fly with??) for the Aldila World Match Play Long Drive Championships. Things to do while in Helsinki area as well as in Stockholm as well----we will spend a few days before the event in Stockholm area .
Thx for any and all suggestions and help getting this set up now...

Time for an update, As some of you may have noticed there isn´t many hotels with rooms left in Västerås or Enköping. We have a few rooms left at the golfclub. But today we cleared it with a place within 3 min from the club that has 38 beds. Not sure about how many single bed rooms or double bed rooms there are. If interested, please mail Agneta, that works at the golfclub: info@orrestagolf.seThe rate is about 500SEK including breakfast per night. Tony will update on competitors later this week and those registered can expect a mail in the near future. Regards Andreas
