LDA ANNOUNCES "LAUNCH" TO 2012 LONG DRIVE SEASON



ROANOKE, TEXAS (December 8, 2011) - Long Drivers of America (LDA) today announced the 2012 Desert Launch Championship, the first U.S. qualifying event for the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship Powered By Dick's Sporting Goods, will take place at Mesquite Sports and Event Complex in Mesquite, Nev. on March 1-3.

 
Top Desert Launch Championship finishers will earn a spot at the RE/MAX world finals next fall.


In addition, those competitors that qualify for the 2012 Desert Launch finals will be eligible for the RWLDC Last Chance Qualifier in October (TBA).


No pre-registration or pre-payment of entry fees is required for the 2012 Desert Launch. Just register on-site and tee it up!

Qualifier 1  
    9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Qualifier 2

    12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Top competitors from each session advance to Saturday finals

This will be my first time out, anyone mind giving me the low down on how this works? Do I just show up on the qualifying day hit a few balls and hope I did well enough to make it to the finals? or is it a bracket type competition?

That is correct. Show up to local. Qualify. Amount of tries dictates how many Hitters make it to the finals. Bracket for the finals. Good Luck to you!!

I'm still waiting on release of the 2012 dates for rwldc's in order to plan events and travel trips to events-- unsure as to being Open still or into Seniors now--- born Oct 27 1967.  So this year Finals date is very important !!   Hope the LDA release it sooner than later so I'm able to start booking events and making plans for travel!!
