Ok I think we have enough information regarding the format for a new format to present itself through logical reasoning.
The problem with the current format is that we are comparing drives hit at different times and consequently under different conditions, in a game where you can lose by inches even subtle changes in the wind can have a profound effect on the outcome.
Therefore we only want to be comparing drives hit at the same time, however, with 4 on the tee this makes the group size too small so we need to go to 6 on the tee.
With 6 on the tee there are now issues over which slot you get and a lot of balls for the grid workers to handle, we can solve these issues by splitting the set of 6 balls into two sets of 3 balls, with a short break for grid workers to confirm the initial yardages and competitors to change slots.
With a 3 ball set it is harder for competitors to get in a rhythm so to compensate we need to move to two 4 ball sets, now I don't see any more issues so we have our format. We will take 3 from 6 and of course keep the double elimination.
Not only does a short break solve the issues mentioned above, it also gives competitors an opportunity to assess where they are in the match and to interact with each other and the crowd
