SHANKS FROST OPEN...LIST, FORMAT, AND PAYOUT!

If you are on the list to play, I need confirmation again just to make sure everyone is still planning on attending. Also, as of right now, we have 20 signed up, which means there will be a total of $6,300 in the pot. Please, everyone that is signed up, add a comment on how you would like the format and payout to be done. This tournament is set up for the competitors, it's your money, time, and hard work that allows us all to come together and compete and have a great time. Therefore, this event is allowing all of us to dictate the format and payout. While we may have differing opinions, we will try to format and payout this event to where everyone is happy. Once again, if you are on this list, please comment and let me know you are still attending, along with how you would like it to be formatted and payed.

Do it like a super qualifier format. If you get 20 guys; Round 1 - 5 groups of 4 with the Top 2 in each group moving on in rd. 1.......Round 2 - 10 guys broken into 2 groups of 5 with the top 3 moving on from each group.......Round 3 - top 6 guys straight shootout for 1st thru 6th place.
1st rd. - 18 balls (4 for 2)
2nd rd. - 12 balls (5 for 3)
3rd rd. - 6 ball (straight shootout)
Purse Breakdown - $6300 2 man Team shootout after tournament (if everyone goes in) - $2000
1. $2300 1. $1200 or 1. $1000
2. $1500 2. $800 2. $600
3. $1000 3. $400
4. $700
5. $400
6. $400
Just an idea...let me know what you guys think. This just give guys more time on the tee and basically an extra set on the grid.
Bring some sleeves fellas. It'll be chilliy in the morning.

Forecast says average temp. that time of the year is 52 degrees...so shouldn't be too bad at all, maybe a lil chilly in the morning...still need more input on the format and payout guys. If I don't get any more than this, we'll prob just go with Gentry's format.

Good with me too. Maybe Gentry should be the commissioner! Shank is the host, Blakely is the director!

Gentry,
I like your format but its a waste of time to hit 3 rounds in rd. 1. Lets do the same format but hitting 2 sets of 6, 2 sets of 6 and then 1 set of 6 in the shoot-out. Nothing changes but we grab more time in the end for side bets, team bets and etc....

I am still in. I think Gentry's format is fine along with Bullard's suggestion.

Thats cool with me Bull. We can do 2 sets in rd. 1, 2 sets in rd. 2 and 1 set in rd. 3. You're right that will provide more time for the team competition and any challenge matches or side bets.
Sounds good to me...I can't wait for story time arouond the fire

Bullard has a point...if any of you were at the last shootout at shanks that Mike Brody ran and did super Q format...it took FOREVER....literally it was over 3 hours just to get through round 1 hitting 3 sets a piece with 18 guys. In 3 hours, theres A LOT of time for condition changes. Not to mention you were sitting for almost an hour or more at a time between sets with the temperatures in the 40's to 50. You guys know I'm coming no matter what, but alternate formats should definately be in consideration.
Cant wait to see all you yard apes!

Looks like we'll do Bull's format with 2 sets, 2 sets, shootout....also macho, dont worry about the cold brotha, Bull's building a fire along with storytime, or u can stand or sit behind Gentry, that worked for me in Denver...and Shook, you know damn well we wouldn't do winner take all if you show up to Shanks grid, you're the only one in the world that finds that grids sprinkler heads

I heard through the grapevine that a guy they call Big Kountry might come to Atlanta and catch the Bullmarta to the event....Sounds like this is going to be fun....Just for thoughts....Lets make everyone bring a $20.00 value gift to the event and do dirty Santa during the day....Everyone draws a number and that the order you get to pick your gift...that guy gets to keep his gift or the next one opened all the way through...the last guy gets the choice of any gifts or chooses to open the last gift remaining....Lets make this event fun guys....I might not get a gift this year so this is my best chance to get one....Show some character boys........

Or we could just donate the 20 bucks in cash and sponsor some kids that really don't get anything for Christmas! Angel Tree or something similar. There up to 25 guys coming as of now. That can take care of an entire family!
Just an idea.
