Sure, odds are against this, but what if Sadlowski, Miller, and Gentry are all picked out of the 'hat' randomly into the same starting 4? Is random draw the best way to go?
From my understanding, the draw at worlds is not necessarily out of a hat. From my understanding, each group of 8 or 16 is seeded with certain individuals (ie, past champions, LDA tour winners, etc.). Correct me if I a wrong.

logistics. locations and distances between events all come into play----are we really opening up that can of worms again?? there is no true fair or legitimate way to rank ---until there is a true legitimate system and LEAGUE , Association, or way to do so...
events need to be held on a regular basis and with a year to year callander in place first---before this can even start to be qualified as legit!
Sure the USA has events and such---but include the rest of the worlds hitters/competitors Canadians, Euorpe and South Africa , Austrilia ect...and its too much at this time still --the way it is!
Until the $$ is there --this wont happen as guys will not travel for events in OFF SEASON (yes its snowing up here now) and with such extreme distances to get to them----for lil purses and chance to cover costs ect...

Seedings from the previous year's WLDC shouldn't cause any issues, however many are pre-qualified from the previous year get ranked in the order they finished. For those that were eliminated and finished in tied positions, you use their longest ball from their last set and so on.
#1 Carl Wolter
#2 Ben Tuaone
#3 Joe Miller (452 Semi's)
#4 Aaron Mansfield (420 Semi's)
#5 Jamie Sadlowski (443 Quarter's)
#6 Justin Moose (419 Quarter's)
#7 Jeff Gavin (416 Quarter's)
#8 C J Hellstrom
#9 Zac Adams (397 Rd 13)
#10 Kevin Bullard (390 Rd 13)
etc to as many places as you want.
Just an idea

Worrying about the specifics of a seeding and how they will apply is much like worring about how much land your family will be allocated when we conquer Mars.
Step 1 - introduce idea to LDA
Step 2 - discuss
Step 3 - worry about specifics
Landing on Mars
Step 1 - introduce idea to Nasa
Step 2 - get to Mars
Step 3 - worry about specifics
See......

You can also do indoor events with a new real accurate launch monitor and well designed ballflight model.

The poll is showing that with only 15% of the vote the current format is the least popular, the most popular, with more than 50% of the vote, is the 2 from 4 format. So despite the drawback of a small group size, it appears that having competitors hit under the same conditions is the most important factor here.

Is anyone concerned that with a 6 man set they would lose balls? I swear that happens more than people care to acknowledge.
They could tighten up the area between competitors on the grid in Mesquite and get six in. I have never hit in that format but I think it would be good to try out and see. You're still taking the top half and if you aren't in the top half you probably didn't deserve to win that round anyway. It is after all, the world championships.
Life's not fair and sometimes the best performances come from facing adversity and the wind will plays that part well. The wind is definitely an issue and should be considered but at the same time it also gives the best hitter a distinct advantage compared to guys that are just swinging out of their shoes, like me. I think Mobley is the best example of that.
I think they have to do the double elimination format, single elimination doesn't keep you coming back for more. I think that helps the sport to grow. Everybody has a bad set and when you have a total of 16 rounds even the best hitters need a second chance. Although, it would be pretty intense if you were doing one and done with six on the box. It would move things along a lot quicker too. I wonder how that would affect logistics on the warm-up tee box???

Make the grid go from 65 yards wide at 300 yards, to 80 yards wide at 465 yards. (A slight V-shape)
Reduce each tee box width from 6 yards to 5 yards. Add 2 more tee boxes.
Make every group a 6 for 3 and call it a day.
VERY EXCITING for the fans and every group has the exact same wind conditions.
and boom goes the dynamite..........
