Hi Guys (And 2 girls!  ;-)

besides looking into a outdoor event for 2012, i am also looking into organizing an indoor event in Amsterdam.
I've heard all the horror stories about indoor events, which are all true.
All simulators so far are too sad to even talk about.

Although the new Foresight Sports GC2 that i have and are planning to use is extremely accurate. (google some reviews)
The measurements are as precise as they come now and the ball flight model modeled from Trackman is very true to bounce/roll with spin etc..
I and others have hit 1000's balls on it indoors, the result is never different than you feel what it should be

After all the random wind events i have recently witnessed.. (Mesquite hint).
I feel i can guarantee that the best longdriver will win an indoor event on this simulator. 100% fair environment.
There are no tricks to fool this machine....

I'm just investigating the interest for such an event, especially in the winter.
I feel if i organize one and get longdrivers enthousiastic about the quality of this simulator, i could make this a recurring event.
Like a couple per winter.. Maybe not for big money but we could actually compete a couple times more per year outside the outdoor season.

Please let me know your thoughts on this. (And if you could be interested to come over for such an event)
Again i emphasize, i only want to do this because i feel this simulator is the real thing, not the usual crap out there!

If i get too many "srew indoor events, period" (please do be honest), i will probably not pursue this further.

Greetz,

Martijn

Pursue it! Always fun with events. Indoor ones are more spectator friendly then outdoor ones.

Martijn...I personally feel Indoor LDing is one of the most overlooked venues for possible Big Time money for LDers during the Off Season.  I wish Dick's would work with the LDA (and this would include overseas as well...not hard to set up) and have the Indoor World Championships.

The travel cost would be minimal and Pro and Amatuers could have the same type of qualifying as outside events.  With the entire event over X amount of months leading up to the Championships.

It would also be advantageous to help generate sales in each store that is involved in this type of event.  It just seems like a natural to me...a winner for LD and to generate sales for Dicks and whomever wants to sponsor (here and overseas).
