i am in the process of making some new shaft pullers. They are user friendly and can be carried with you anywhere. You can use them in the flat position or upright for checking the spine. I should have them ready in a couple of weeks. The price is $175.00 You can find some that are cheaper but this one will last a long time with normal use. i have had mine for 5 years and it's like new.
