It's been a great display by all the Europeans this year, I can only imagine what it is like to go into somebody elses back yard and not only stand your ground but actually take some of theirs! Grin

To Johan, Joe and CJ, the very very best of luck tonight in the finals you deserve to be there and have the ammunition to join Sandra as a 2011 WLDC Champion!

To eveveryone that made the journey and competed, well done you are all personal inspirations. I met some of you at my first event this year at the Europeans in September and you made me feel extremely welcome, I will be working hard over the winter and hopefully making next year's events just that little bit harder for you. Wink

It only takes 1 ball, empty your head and trust your swing!

Love the Euro hitters who put out  the time, cost and effort to come here and compete at the worlds. Your presence is appreciated and respected. If you take the title again you earned it.    Of course I hope a US boy takes it back.

Matt,

It is always tough to travel and do well but once in Mesquite there are so many europeans making noice that by the sound of the spectators, you would imagine we had home advantage! And thats a fact Grin

Of course the big names get the crowd going but all euros feel the support out here. More so then in europe actually.

Hit it long today!

Andreas,

I was watching the scoring last night and screaming for you to get through!

The atmosphere must be incredible, I hope one day to feel it!

The problem is Steve is that she beat 7 people. Its almost like beating 7 people in your neighborhood. What's not fair to her is she would probably beat 1000 other women. Kind of like the "old man" divisions, beating 12 others is really nothing to write home about. We need to see a Sandra vs Phyllis showdown.Make it happen geek spend some of that money. LOL

Sandra beat most of the older men competitors that day.
Not just 7 women. She outhit the mojority of the field in the upper 2 mens divisions.
That's what the talk was about Sandra. Not that she beat all the women.
Just saying

Sandra beat every other woman in the world that competes in long drive period! If they weren't there, well if you your not in it you can't win it.

So did Carl only beat the guys that competed at finals or did he prove that he had the determination, dedication and ability to beat all comers? Hell yeah! Many have said no one wanted it more than him and that's why he had the focus on the day to win.

Sandra has proved she is a WORLD CHAMPION, she had to qualify to get to Worlds, she had to compete and practice and on the day she had the drive to win!

I just read this topic. I agree with Animal, in that the women need the top notch hitters there (Kelliher, Meti, how about Lisa Fernandez). I watched Sandra hit in every round. She dominated a field of 9 women by 30yds in every round leading up to the finals. In the finals she had her worst set by far, and still won by 3yds. I think she would agree that the aforementioned ladies probably would have gotten to 285 or more.I think next yr. she will be better in the finals. She truly is a great WORLD CHAMPION... I dont think Animals comments were intended to diminish her great accomplishment. Carls title was different....how many former world champions did he beat? At least 6 or 7 not including himself. A field of 128 is a little different than a field of 9.
