So finally here we go: 1) Hotel info for you guys who need to book a room: Scandic Uppsala Nord http://www.scandichotels.se/uppsalanord?cmpid=ppcse_201102101793: Måndag 13/6 – torsdag kväll 16/6 enkelrum 1.265:-/natt, dubbelrum 1.365:-/natt. OBS Tisdag kväll 14/6 är vi redan fullbokade OBS. Fredag 17/6 – söndag 19/6 enkelrum 890:-/natt, dubbelrum 990:-/natt. Bokning för detta erbjudande kan bara ske på 018-495 23 13 Uppge koden LONGDRIVE SÖDERBY. ... and the same in english: call 0046184952313 (Scandic Uppsala Nord - the only hotel in Uppsala which is not fully booked yet) and give code LONGDRIVE UPPSALA.
Rates: friday-sunday 990kr (495kr per face) per night in a double room including buffe breakfast. Tuesday is already FULLY BOOKED. Wednesday - thursday night 1365kr per night in a double room. The hotel is 10min drive away from the golf club, 25mins from the Arlanda airport. 15min walking distance to town, but you can catch a bus to the city center right outside of the hotel. The best option is to hire a car between a few guys... 2) The only qualification session (for 8 spots) will be run on friday between 13.00-19.00 (1pm-7pm). 3) The main event will start at 9.00 on saturday. 4) The entry fee is 1500kr, 1000kr for those who make it to the event through qualification. 5) Do NOT forget the dress code. It is the same as at the World Championships. 6) The cash prize for the longest ball of the event will be 3000kr (about $500) More info coming later... |

I called the hotel and obviously the manager has forgotten to inform the hotel workers about the deal. It should be fixed on monday...sorry about that.

Poker thursday evening, I think we will start at 18.00 (6pm), 4 tables of 8 players, 500kr (50e) as the buy in/start fee/whatever you call it, sponsors + players are welcome, the first 32 get a spot, pro guy as the "ref"...

I have just made a Hall in One at the 9th hole of my course... Yes... You've read it right... Hall in one... The ball flew way over the green and ended in the Hall of the Club House... Just in front of the bar... Didn't have to walk much to celebrate that accomplishment... |

To be honest with you I haven't thought yet who I want to play the pro am. But as a rule of thumb I want the best golfers to play. I will come out with the list of guys whom I do expect to play on sunday evening. Right now I am on a vacation with my family getting ready for next week.............

Hi Kari, i just booked tickets - hotel -car etc to come over for the friday qualifying.. Maybe i'm still 20mph SS short in Longdriving but not so in the poker department. So if this the signup method for thursday poker here it is.. My first longdrive event coming up, i'm curious how i will hold up.. 20 bucks per 6ball rebuy, therefore i will personally make sure your pricefund will be covered! haha just don't tell me the friday qualifier has a busload of 400yards+ guys in there.. There is so real sign up method, those 32 first that come and arrive at the scene will get to be a part of it. It will be a somewhat serious poker tournament I have understood...and 500kr is the "starting fee". See you soon!! |
