Gentlemen,

Your feedback is appreciated very much. The date change was necessary to allow, like Michael Dale stated, competitors to try and qualify from two events with the least bit of travel time.

I will start a list of competitors interested in the cash event so post here if you would like to be added or removed.

1. Matt Gunning
2. Kevin Blenkhorn
3. Shawn Robinson
4. Jesse Hnidy
5. Ryan Hart
6. Glen Hutchinson
7. Travis Holland

Hello good sirs.

I am brand new to the long drive sport/community.  I would like to add my name to the list for the super qualifier (assuming it's open to everyone).  I look forward to actually competing in this addicting sport!

Cheers,

Mike

Mike,

This list is for a cash event only and will not qualify you for the worlds. You are more than welcome to attend, just want you to be clear on what's taking place. The Super Q weekend offers the chance to qualify for the RWLDC in Mesquite. That will be Aug.26th and 27th. Just show up those days and for $40 you get 6 tries to make your mark. You can try as many times as time permits. Call me if you have any questions.

Oh, perfect!  Thanks for the info Jesse.  I won't be able to make the cash event as I'm getting married on the 20th, but I'll definitely see you guys at the qualifier!  Are there any other events going on in Alberta this spring/summer?

Thanks,

Mike

Blenkhorn will be the oldest but my body feels like it will be the oldest there.  Im still nursing a torn rotator in left shoulder, supraspinatus tear in right shoulder and my soleus/gastroc/hamstring insertion is just plain nasty.  I have only hit balls once this year and it hurt but I'm hoping I can keep enough swings in the tank for the cash event.  Not sure if I will try for the Super Q but I'm always willing to help Kevin and Shawn earn more money Grin.

Nice job on securing a venue Jesse.  I hope all the work you are doing is paying off for you and of course all your efforts are offering some of us local guys an opportunity to compete in the World Championships without having to travel all over the continent.  That sort of value cannot be measured but it should not go unappreciated.

I've been quite on here for awhile but it's great to see that people like Jesse, Kevin, Shawn, Ryan, Greg, Terry and all are still fighting to keep longdrive in Alberta thriving.

Oh ya does anyone mind if I leave my walker on the tee when I'm hitting?

Wow, what happened Glenn?

Hope all is well with the family.  You moved within a 45 minutes drive of me this past winter, and haven't heard a peep out of you.

Keep n touch.

Hey guys, ya I've been busy hurting myself I guess.  Ya we moved to Okotoks and we love it here I'm just having a bad year where I work a lot and make very little and with 4 kids thats not a recipe for success.  Of course frustration builds up but I have a good release for that, working out really hard, and that's where the injuries come in.  Hurt myself last year before the Mile high shootout and had to pull out of that and thought I gave myself enough time to rehab and recover but alas tis not the case.  I can still put a good move on the ball I just get some pain associated with it.  I need to get out and whack the ball around so keep your ears on and I'll be calling.

I hope to see you guys before and at any alberta long drive events.

I'm going to have to cancel the cash event guys. The Super Q is still a go of course and I hope to see you all there. If anyone needs a room please let me know as they are limited. They are right across the street and the next option is about a half hour drive.

...while I'm posting I might as well drop some names...  I have confirmed that once again this year Vincent Ciurluini, Jesse Pettersen and Winston Ahoy will be hitting at the event. Very nice! Also received a call from Houston Hair and I will be calling him back shortly.
Vince I will let you know about room rates very soon.

Thanks again guys for all the support!
