Maurice and others wondering--here is a short clip from the 2010 event in Jamaica at CINNAMON HILL in the Rose Hall area--Montego Bay.  Last years event was just the startin--g point for a great # of future events and competitions---Everyone who made the payouts were paid that day at the resort with no issues from a competitor stand point and great time had by all for the week away competing and getting to know one and other better too.  Quite a few Hitters brought spouse's and G/Fs along and witha  week event--lots of time for Tours and site seeing as well while away in Jamaica,  Dunns River falls, Zip-linning - Golf was amazng, ect, ect...

enjoy--

Maurice

well done ove rthe weekend and with your latest showing in LD!

Yes this is a CANADIAN QUALIFIER for hitters wanting spots to the Canadian Championships in SEPT----before the JAMAICAN event---trials to make the teams!    Best at the nationals in SEPT will make the teams and be invited to participate!   Im sure if you wanted to just HIT ona  grid and in an event ---not an issue if ya wanna take the trip and drive up too---but verify that Question and thought --as well as my reply with RICK BENOIT---U have his email

Thx and look forward to meeting you as well sometime sooner than later!

So it really should be the cldc?

Is this how it goes;

1.)  Canadian local qualifiers.

2.) Canadian National Chamipionship.

3.)  Teams picked from the Canadian national championship to compete in Jamaica.

Is that the right progression?

That'd be a strange title to hold..."I am the longest Canadian in all of Jamaica!"

The event sounds like a lot of fun and who could argue with a trip to Jamaica.  However, If I'm right on the qualifying and selection process this will be a tough event for any non-canadian to enter.  Jamaica sounds like fun...traveling to canada twice in order to get to Jamaica...not so much.

Hopefully I'm wrong on that but either way best of luck on the event.  Sounds like a lot of fun.  Any plans to make the Jamaica event a "buy in" tourney without the Canadian qualifying aspect?

Dan ---NORCALBOMBER

Look at the official ILDC site and info for details---YES THIS IS A CLDC qualifier.

Yes this is part of the CANADIAN TEAM QUALIFIERS PROCESS-------USA TEAM is up to them!   South African Team will hold/host and have their own trials and qualifiers as will other temas competing in JAMAICA at the end of Sept.

This event being held is in AYR ONTARIO and ment as a starting stage /process to make it to the National championships being held before JAMAICA event at end of Sept.

you ask/state---The event sounds like a lot of fun and who could argue with a trip to Jamaica.  However, If I'm right on the qualifying and selection process this will be a tough event for any non-canadian to enter.

You are correct ----THIS IS TO BE ON CANADIAN TEAMs(qualifier process)   not the USA TEAM---SEAN FISTERS TEAM or SOUTH AFRICAN TEAm or JAPANESE TEAM either.   Currently Chris Mason is was the longest Canadian in Jamaica last fall at the event --placing 2nd overall.

RICK BENOIT is  available by email at    ildc.irongrid@gmail.com

as well the ILDC site is available to review at  for more info and help/clarification on qualification info

http://www.internationallongdrivechallenge.com/

im just posting info here for RICK

Thx and regards

Gotcha.  Thanks for the clarrification.

Here's the team USA link for those that may be interested.
http://www.internationallongdrivechallenge.com/ildc_team_usa.html

It doesn't mention qualifying dates or locations. Perhaps you need an invite from Sean Fister...

Nada.  There isn't any info on that site for U.S. qualifying.  I just sent an email to the address given on the USA link.  I'll let you know if/when they respond.

UPDATE
For anyone with questions on this event email Rick at ildc.irongrid@gmail.com

I exchanged a few emails with him today.  I didn't get any concrete answers but he's very involved and a good guy to work with.
