Kiss come on guys, I need to know the schedule for this year. Kari in july, put it here, I will then update the "frontpage:) also Söderby and You beatuful Finns, when???

Come on lets do this...so we can get a good schedule and plan accordingly.
Also I think all Euros should become members of the tour this year, lets get a logo for the tour and to become member you have to pay 500 SEK ( swedish Cronors) to start up website and also ranking list etc.
All members will be invited and members of Team Europe etc.

Give me some feedback cause NOW is the time to do it!! Wink

Love and Longdrives!

Kari, great question!
My opinion is that the actual toournament should be "open" but the title Swedish champion should be given to the best swede. Or?

Lets debate this a bit and together we decide.

I call on the "players committe" Shocked

Who is on it anyways?
Johan tumba
Adam Stacey
Janos
Micke or Marcus?
Patrik Andersson
Andreas Persson
Kari Hyokki
anyone else wanna be a member of the Players committe?

I think we every year should have one competition only for swedes to crown the swedish national champion. I am not sure that this is that competition but I think we should have one anually.  If others are in the chance is that a swedish player looses to a international player in the early rounds and miss the chance to win.

I will probably never win this title again but I think we need a national championship to grow longdrive in sweden.

Every sport has a national championship. This is just like the european championsip is for europeans and I don't think we schuld change that.

Kari, I think it's time you become a swedish citizen.

Feedback please.

If I was living in Finland and somebody had an event "Finnish championships" maybe I didn't want any other nationalities in that event either. However, I have hard time believing Janos or anyone would ever put up that kind of event - because there are already way too few events in Europe in the first place! Sure, that might be a good thing for the Finnish hitters, but that would be a very selfish way of thinking. That would mean basically "let us Finns get better, F'uck the rest of the European gang".

I understand the idea of having national championships but if you are putting up an event why the hell wouldn't you wanna have as many good hitters in your event as possible? Why would you say to Joe Miller, Adam Stacey, Dan Konyk or anyone that "stay home, we don't want you at our event".

I am pretty sure most (if not every single one of them) of the Swedish hitters would love to hit against as many quality hitters as possible.

I said it last year and I say it again - I have a different way of thinking: I wanna have my event as multinational and big as possible. I welcome everyone to Söderby and be a part of my event, I don't see borders between countries and continents, I see long drivers who love the sport and wanna compete and be a part of the international long drive community. If some other organizers think differently, they have every right to do so.

Hate & shortdrives.

By the way there is really nothing to debate about, it is very clear how the event organizers want to run the event. I respect that and wish everyone good luck over there. I have no interest of showing up at a venue where it is very clear I am not welcome. I have no hard feelings about it, I just think it's very selfish to run a closed event these days when there are so few events to begin with.

Ok Kari. How can we crown a swedish national champion without having a swedish national championship?

There is a great interest for this title and I hope I am not the only one that want's to keep it.

I cannot understand how you can hate me for wanting this tradition to go on. I have invited everyone to a lot of competitions in the past, you included. And i am gladly doing it again this year to the orresta event. I just don't get it.

I was just sharing my views regarding this issue. It was not by any means directed to you.

On a more lighter side of things it says on your website that you are:

Austrian champion
Dutch champion
Scottish champion

...so howcome you have to be Swedish to become a Swedish champion? No hate here, just wondering.

Hi guys,
I would like to part of the committee!

I think that Marcus has some point in the swedish championship being only for swedish players, but after all Kari has been living there for
several years. I think someone is afraid Wink

But having swedish championship in some international event is not the best thing. It takes the interest and greatness away from the
spectators about the swedish champion. We have done it here in Finland and it´s not the right way. One competition, one price giving ceremony. So if you want organize both, do it in different days (sat&sun). In the swedish champs (sat) you can also have the qualification for the big event (sun). And on saturday there could be pro-ams with the international players. So it is Long Drive Power weekend in Sweden and media is all over it!  Wink

I am not afraid I know I will not winn, with or without Kari. I am to old and to slow. I still love longdrive and hope to stay in the game a little more

I agrre in the things you say about the competition. I think it,s better to separate the two.
