Hi everyone I am very excited to enter in this great sport of long driving and I am looking for any advice people can give as far as technique or competitions or training or buying clubs.  I look forward to getting longer and competition as watching last year western qualifiers it looked like alot of fun.  Thanks in advance.

Hey Kevin,

Welcome to this great sport.

A few words of wisdom:

If you buy a new club, save it for competition, all clubs will flatten and break with high club head speeds;

Buy slightly used clubs to see what you like first.  You can buy a slightly used HOF shaft and GEEK DCT for near $125.00 or so, this is the way to go, this is a world class set-up;

Don't buy a $400.00 driver until you learn how to hit the longer club, again, it will break and you could have had three good clubs for this cost;

Read up on bulge and roll and ask the seller for these numbers before buying;

If you find your competition club, buy two of them, same specs, one for practice, one for the comps.

Good luck.
