Ok people Dewald Gouws can't make it to Söderby this summer, here are his words from an email he sent me.

"Looks like Long Drive is a 'no go' for the next 6 months atleast for me...I am real sorry for cancelling because as you know I love it over there because of the awesome people, great grid and the fun we have!

I'm sure it is going to be the bomb this year but I'll be 100 next year so then I'll be there..."

...and I didn't ask him to write any sales speech, those are his own words.

Take it easy Dewald, I'll see you at worlds bro  Wink

About getting s h y t done - we had a 2h meeting today with the local mediahouse. The meeting went well and if we get them on board the venue will look like...well...like a big event is supposed to look like!

I have started to post this stuff on the general forum but the latest additions are Jeff Crittenden and Ryan Winther.

Other than that everything is on track with the event. I hope I can come out with the hotel info soon. What happened was the hotel boss who was our contact at the hotel we used last year started working at another hotel in town so it has taken some time to get the deals done, but no worries I shoud have all the info for you guys who need to book a hotel room soon.

As expected some of our American friends have gotten obstacles on their way and can't make their way to Sweden this summer. No worries people, we are talking about only a few names. Dustin Merrill, James Horton and Jeff Gavin have told me they probably can't make it so here are the first three "alternates" to get a spot to the main event:

Marcus Edblad
John McSloy
Philippe Jost

On another note I've gotten some good sponsor stuff solved..........

...and I have been told I will get more info about the hotel on tuesday.

Be prepared for this even if you won't ever be...
We (Philippe and I) arrive te 16th of June in Skavsta at 11:45 AM so we should be in Söderby Golf Klub at 13:30 maximum (Google map say a 2h15 drive but you know how I am driving Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy).
Where is the meeting point?Huh? I already need food...
Then... We plan to book 2 nights as we are flying back on sunday at 6:40 AM and that the last night will be dedicated to PARTY!!!! Let us know the deal and how we should book the hotel.
Take care.

I will make sure you get food! I'll talk to my 200kg fit finnish chef buddy JUKKA and he will make you some delicious scandinavian dishes!

I hope that I can finally come out soon with the hotel info. I got some good stuff cooking regarding the event and we might be looking at a record croud out there if (and when) some things fall into place...more about that a bit later...
