Sorry about that...I meant Yjackets13.  He didn't buy them from me, he got them from ebay (Sellinger's I think) for around $1100, two heads!

i hate to break it to both you guys, but i think you might need to hit a higher ball flight
if you wanna beat the world!!!!

Woodrow

We're not talking about beating the world in this instance. It was a bet between Bullard and I and damn good one in my opinion. This is the 2nd time you've pushed me under the bus and I don't know who you are (maybe I do but you dont sign your posts). I know I need to hit the ball higher and I'm working on it. Anybody can see that when I'm hitting a friggin' laser with a 7* launch angle.

Landon you did hit a couple balls in Jacksonville over the weekend that were over 10* launch but I really liked the one that was 22.4* launch. Even though it had 7000 spin you should definitely try to reproduce that shot especially for Mesquite because that is a big ball there.

See, I told you guys I was working on it. I thinking 22* is a perfect launch angle and now if I can just wrangle in that spin I would be good to go. Hitting again today and doing some testing this week before the Mile High. I'll see you there bro.

P.S. Dont be surprised if I show up and I'm launching it at 11-12*.....yeah right!!

Congratulations to Kevin Shook.

have you ever looked at somebody elses signature on a piece of paper and thought it looked really good......and kinda wondered why you can't do that.  In LD our swing is our signature, and if you have been at it for years then it is IMPOSSIBLE, (yes impossible) to change your signature move at the ball.  Don't mistake what I am saying to mean that you can't make improvements, because you most certantly can.  When you make "improvements" they might feel very big to you, but in reality they are small.  And even if you "change your swing" it will always still have your signature written all over it.  Think Vince Howell, he might be working on some things in his swing like we all do, but Vince's signature move at the ball will always be the same, it ain't going anywhere.  Thank God in his case, because he is freaking awesome.  Jason Zuback is never going to have the sweet looking swing like Bobby Wilson.  And Wilson is absolutely never going to have the brute strength of Zuback. You can not, and will not ever get rid of your signature move, and chances are if you ever did you would start short knocking.  When a low ball hitter starts trying to hit it high he might succeed, but that ball will have too much spin on it. Conversly when a a high launch hitter trys to bring it down he often does so with tee hight and ball position which won't work for LD at all.  After all it is our signature moves that are making the ball go far in the first place, you don't want to skrew with it too much.  Camilo Villegas and Jamie Sadlowski are about the same size( about, lets not argue about how they are slightly different) and have two very different swings.  It is not as if Camilo is weak, AT ALL!  And I'm sure you have seen him go at the ball very hard on T.V.  The difference is Camilo's "very hard" is 120ish swing speed, and Jamie's "very hard" is in the mid to high 140's.  Two very different moves at the ball.  Now you could give Camilo 10 million in cash right now to give up his signature and he would turn you down cold.  His talent and style will most likely have him retiring worth 50-100 million +.  But Camilo will never hit the ball even remotely close to as long as Jamie.  Two very different signatures from two guys with similar physical statures.

All of that to respond to anybody giving Landon Gentry a hard time about hitting a low ball.  Its true, that is his signature.  He has a very good LD swing that is repeatable, and routinely produces ball speeds over 210mph with a dependable ball flight.  Beleive me I wish I had those attributes.  If Landon ever started launching the ball at 14-15 degrees it almost definately would not work out for him.  And there are plenty of weather conditions that would make him a huge favorite with his low to mid lauch angle.  Not to mention if the Mesquite grid finally ever starts running firm and fast.
